Innocent people die precisely because people violate their religion, generally speaking.

Muslems violate their own religion and apostosize when they justify violence. The Pope told them this and SOME of them got more violent.

No Crusader in the middle ages was ordered kill an innocent person, they were trying to rescue the Holy Land from Muslem invaders, and SOME of them were dissobedient to their religion.
The problem is one of religious intolerance and false propaganda against the Catholic Church that most people believe because it has been repeated for 400 years. Most of it just isn't true.

The Inquisition was another example of people abusing their power in the name of religion, but you can't blame religion for that. Where ever there are human beings, you are going to find sinners. But there is a vast difference between sinful behavior and church teaching, and not one person in all of history has been executed by the Church, but by the state. Sure, SOMETIMES Church officials conspired with the state (such as the execution of St. Joan of Arc) in commiting sinful actions, but this was out of sin and corruption, NOT CHURCH TEACHING.

All that post-reformist rhetoric about the Inquisition is not taught even in baptist bible colleges, they now favor much more scholarly work.

There is the little known Protestant Inquisition, where 150,000 "witches" were burned at the stake in a 50 year period , 13X worse than the Crusades and the Inquisition combined) I doubt very much this is the kind of primitive or "true" Christianity the reformers intended.

The bottom line is, you can't hold the sins of our fathers against us and call yourself fair and reasonable. You have to take into account the worlld-view of the times, historical context, social context, political context, and so on.

No, And no religion condones death of innocents, NOT EVEN ISLAM!

I would die if i had faith strong enough, but i would not kill no matter how strong my faith. To defend a religion with bloody hands only condemns you to a fate you do not want.

Innocent people get caught up in this, unfortunately. This earth is not easy, and is a learning ground. You have to remember man chose evil, and so this world is not the place that God had first made for us. There have always been holy wars, and will be, it is just when people did not obey the wishes of God, they got into a pickle. God told Abraham that his wife would get pregnant with the leader of Israel, but since they were so old, Abraham did not believe that was possible, so he took an Egyptian wife, to have the child. So, later, his wife did get pregnant and had the child. Abraham had to ask them to leave as his wife told him that their child was the chosen one. The Egyptian son, said that he was the chosen one. That holy war has been going on ever since, see how we mess things up. Innocent people get killed because of man's justification for war to get what he feels is his. If only they had done what God told them to do, they wouldn't have such a mess. Man will die for his religion, the disciples died for the gospel that Jesus told them to spread. People became irritated that the men were saying things that did not go with what they wanted to believe. It just won't stop until the end. Man got into these messes, not God. He tried to give man rules to live by, but it is too hard, so they just say, ok, God does not exist. God does exist, we just do not listen to Him.

If you believe in freedom, would you fight and die for it? Would you die for honour? Would you die for love? Would you die for a noble idea you believe in?

Imagine someone you love more than your life itself, someone who gave you so much and loves you more than any human being has ever loved you, would you die for a cause he taught you?

That is Allah

May Allah bless us all. Salam

Edit, all that I said above was talking about myself as the 'innocent person'!!!; I guess that was to answer the question is it worth YOU die for it!

But killing of innocent people, NO ... NO ... NO ... NO
