The extension size would be for, roughly, a 14x12ft extension on the ground floor only to add a 3rd bedroom. There is a brick store room/ shed in the place at the moment that would need to pulled down. I'm only looking for a very rough estimate here while I think about a house I want to buy, e.g. would it cost £1-5K, £5-10k, £10-15k, etc.

How South-West?

Nearer or further than Wimbledon?
Thats what usually makes the difference.

Anything further out than Wimbledon will generally be a LOT cheaper than anything further in due to the tube access, and that goes not only for buying homes but upgrading them as well.

I can't give you a precise figure unfortunately... but I can tell you that its not something to be taken lightly.

I dont know British pounds but a 12 x 14 ft room is basically 168 sq ft. In the USA figure about $100. per sq ft. of construction.
