I want to know the minimum balance to be maintained in HDFC bank. Very urgent.?

Do not be fooled by the cheating bank. Remenber they are cheaters. They have different rule for different people. I think U actually fallen different guy. For people like U they charge Rs5000/- avereage minimum balance, if u do not maintain they debit u anywhere between Rs750 to Rs1500. So U want to bank with such third rated bank. Shift ur account to any nationalised bank excepting SBI, they are a shame to our nation.

The Reserve bank of India states clearly, the bank should not insist on minimumbalance beyond Rs500/- But who cares, the RBI has been totally corrupted.

Before shifting ur account write a letter to the HDFC Banking OMBUDSMAN. Take the address from them and also a copy to the funny becoming joker day by day YV Reddy.

Minimum balance is Rs.5000/- average for 3 months. Eventually it works out to be the same. that you have to mantain a min bal of Rs.5000/-

It means the bank will take an average of the deposits made to this account over a quarter and calculate if the balance is less than 5000/- you pay a penalty of Rs.500/- or whatever the bank decides.

When you have good banks like the Corporation & State Bank Bank of India with Pan India presence please think before you open accounts with Pvt Banks.

Minimum balance is normally Rs. 5,000/-, for Savings a/c. But, Salary A/C. could be even zero. Anyhow if the amount goes below minimum balance, they, charge you a penalty only. They do not stop you from withdrawing money on ATM.

Depends on type of account. If salary account from big corporate, even ZERO balance fine. For normal savings account, it would be either Rs.500 or Rs.1000. Limit could be different for current account.
