Ann it depends on what area of fashion tickles your fancy. If you fancy something like design or something like that, then I think you will probably need a design/fashion degree of some description. If you fancy a buyer/merchandiser type roll then thats a little easier. I worked in fashion for a few years. I started off inputting data, went into sales offices looking after orders going to customers then before I left the industry I was buying materials and making sure the shipping went nice and smooth. Not my cup of tea so I left, but my point is that I had no specific qualifications, started right at the bottom and worked up a little bit. However, the money is quite poor compared to other industries. I felt, and this is a personal opinion, that you had to be a manager of some description to earn a really good wage. The jobs I was doing were not exactly lucrative, but I found that there was a bit of a void in the middle. You either earnt really well or.......not. The best thing to do to get your foot in the door is go and see some agencies. I don't know where you are located, but know there are quite a few fashion agencies in London, the one I always found helpful were Sucess in Air Street.

Hope that helps and good luck. If I can offer any other info drop me an email.

in my own opinion, you should sit for a while and think or tickle your mind..."what kind of clothes do i like?", "wat is the attractive color for me?", "wat clothes do i think where i am comfortable?". Try to answer to yourself these questions and go to the mall(if you want it ryt know!haha!)but I don't suggest that you buy right away...it's better if you look for more and see wat is more cheaper and at the same time has your right taste...
I hope this would help...
