Is there any research going on on identifying one person's race of origin by analyzing his/her face characteristics? One might inherit facial traits of many nations/races through the marriage of his/her ancestors, it there any effort trying to isolate these facial traits (and bodily traits, too) and trace them back to the nations/races in the past?

Hey Tian,

I don't put much stock in this, but they claim that you can put an image in, and get the origins at this site below. To some degree it makes some sense, the color of eyes, roundness of face, color and texture of hair, ear, nose, eye positions, jaw, skintones, etc parameters - perhaps a picture is worth a thousand words.

There is no research on this for two reasons: 1. It is not very accurate. There are to many variations within any "Race" and after a generation or two of mixing the traits could be completely lost. 2. Very bad history of evil uses of such a descriptions. For example, The Nazis tried to identify differences between Arians and Jews and Gypies, then tried to kill all non-Arians.

By looking at a face you can see certain characteristics and traits, for example, all Eastern Europeans have triangle shaped heads and big ears, and the Finns are really pale with high cheek bones, ice-cold blue eyes and a Vodka breath.

Can't they already tell the difference between blacks and whites by facial structure?I think blacks brow ridge and mouth protrude more then Caucasian. But there is a difference, you can tell when you look.
