I'm referring to the concept the of 'what goes around comes around'.

And I was referring to myself when I was a little boy, decades ago. I remember walking into rooms that I was not supposed to enter. I regret it.

Can this guilt have a lasting psychological effect on my personality - or even affect my own sexuality negatively?

Am I superstitious if I believe in divine retribution, or are there others who also believe in such and such?

You don't have to be superstitous to think that the past can come back to haunt you. Sigmund Freud one said that nothing is forgotten; we just move memories out of the way into our unconscious mind. Things left there can have a habit of resurfacing if the external stimulus is similar enough to the original event, and this can lead to quite traumatic emotional turmoil, often without the sufferer understanding what's happening. If you feel that you may have emotional damage due to events in your past, then psychoanalysis is the answer, but you must be prepared for what may surface from your past. The initial event you spoke of could easily be so prominent in your mind because of earlier, forgotten developmental issues.

I'd say it's definitely having a psychological effect on you. It happened years ago and you still remember and regret it. I don't believe that as a little boy though, that you were old enough to know the reasoning between right and wrong...maybe you knew the difference but not why? If that makes sense lol
I kind of believe in karma, but I think it has a lot to do with your conscious decisions as an adult, not things that happened in childhood. You have less self awareness and less self control when you're a child. I'm not a psychologist (as you can probably tell) but it may help you to talk to a counsellor if you're worried.

If you are still feeling bad about stuff that happened as a child, then talking to a counsellor may help to put it in perspective so that you can move on and let go. I believe that many experiences, no matter how trivial others may view them, can affect you for years if they are not handled well at the time.
As for divine retribution, a friend used to say 'God pays debts without money.' Can be regarded as spiritual, superstitious or just spiteful- totally depends on your point of view!

Yes it can affect you if you saw something in these rooms you mention, it can scar you, especially if you were very young. I believe in karma. What I don't understabnd about your question though is that you say will it come back to you? If you have done no wrong, why should it? If it is affecting you this badly maybe you need to talk to someone about it, be it a friend etc.

It already has mate.

If you never cared about it you would get your dues.

But karma took advantage of your guilt and thats why your asking this question now.

And yes, it already has effected you
And no, you can't do anything about it.

Accept your guilt and move on, this horror in your life exists no more

I believe in what goes around comes around, but I believe it is when you do bad things to people. Somebody hurt me badly as a teenager and years later they got their comeupance. It was nothing to do with me yet when I heard about it I couldn't help but smile. I don't think it will come back to haunt you because it sounds like you've been haunted ever since your experience.

its all about your own perspective mate, if you constantly worry yourself about these things, they WILL affect your mental health and everything else, if you dismiss these things then you will be fine,

never worry untill you know for a fact something is a problem and you'll be fine
