It could be a pimple, or a mosquito bite.Or it could be due to some allergy or reaction.Have you tried any make up recently, or have you used any drugs/medicines recently, coz some people are allergic to some medicines which leads to the swelling of the lips or gums.Visit your dermatologist for treatment. Meanwhile use some ice cubes. All the best.

It may be something called oral allergy syndrome. It's very common, and not dangerous, but is a mild allergic rection to certain types of food, or more specifically a protein in them. I have it, and my mouth swells up if I eat apples, cherries, or almonds, but because it's a protein if you heat or cook these foods, they do not affect me.
Think back and try to remember if you ate a certain food. Then rub some on your lips and see if it happens again.
Unfortunately if it is this, there is no way to reduce the swelling.
Alternatively it could be an infection around a foreign object, or around a cut.

Have you used a new product recently, in preparation for seeing your boyfriend? Sounds like an allergic reaction to me, so stop using any products on your lips other than plain Vaseline, and take antihistamines.
Harder said than done, but try to keep calm about it - as the more stressed you get, the worse it will get!

I would see a DR, there must be a reason it swelled. You could try a inflammatory, or Benadryl if it is an allergic reaction. Put ice on it, that should help. It could be a lymph node thing, or even an oral/ tooth abscess. Are you running a fever?

sounds like you have an allergy to something, see your doc first, or even a chemist can help.
