i was on that sh*t known as "seroquel" it's for schitzophrenia, antiphychosis stuff, i'd get the kid off of it, and don't listen to this doctor, who will, definitly tell you he needs it..i took it, it scared the hell out of me everytime i took it, it turned me into the walking dead by morning..see this is what these doctors do, risperidal is trash as well..would you give your son any given street drug? if you answered no, think about some alternative medicines, risperdal is the same thing serequil is..you have to listen to me..these aren't the mad ravings of some crazy hippie, i'm just a guy, who's been through hell with doctors, if you wanna know the sick sad truth about these perscription meds, i'd do alot of research, the doctors, most of them anyhow, will put your kid on as many as possible, they are getting rich, and why not? it works right? people are decieved, as allways, the companies cash in, becasue people are desperate.

I am Bipolar and I take Seroquel and used to take risperdal (yuck). Not only does the resperdal not work on me it made it impossible for me to sleep I was worse off taking that drug so I told my doctor and he put me back on the seroquel.
Seroquel is an Anti-Psychotic that helps you to avoid becoming psychotic. It is a pretty good drug but it is very sedating and should be taken at bedtime. Read the instructions...it says that people have been hit by cars because they take their Seroquel and then go out. I read that somewhere. I would believe it though. Its an alright drug with little side effects. Keep in mind that what is good for one person may not be good for the other. Good Luck

I am currently taking 225mg of Effexor XR and 100mg of Seroquel. I take the Seroquel at bedtime to help me sleep but i will say I'm very tired in the mornings and it takes me a while to actually wake up. They say that seroquel is non-habiting forming but i don't know what i would do without it. I have gained weight and my doctor told me it is the seroquel but who knows. I have only been taking the Effexor for about 6 months but i think it is wearing off because i feel my depression coming back. You say you like his doctors so just trust them. I wish the best for you and your son.

My step-daughter used to take both Seroquel and Risperdal. I was told that are from the same drug family, and they're used to control angry outbursts. Seroquel can also be used to treat sleeplessness in adults.
