SOURCE - external carotid a.
BRANCHES - suprahyoid br., dorsal lingual brs., deep lingual a., sublingual a.
SUPPLIES - tongue, suprahyoid muscles, palatine tonsil runs deep to hyoglossus m.

ARTERY - deep lingual
SOURCE - lingual a.
BRANCHES - none
SUPPLIES - anterior tongue

VEIN - vena comitans of the hypoglossal n.
TRIBUTARIES - deep lingual v., sublingual v. DRAINS INTO - lingual v.
REGION DRAINED - tongue, sublingual region

The blood supply to the tongue is received from the veins/ arteries that are found under your tongue in the oral cavity. They are large and can't be missed, if you raise your tongue to the roof of your mouth they are very visible.

tongue is supplied by lingual artery which is the branch of external carotid artery
the root of the tongue is also supplied by tonsillar and ascending pharyngeal arteries
