Hydrogen cars are cars that, instead of being powered by gas & oil, are powered by water. I saw them on the discovery channel some time ago, and some of the main points where that it supposedly gets higher MPG than gasoline-powered cars, and that it runs completely clean. In fact, on the program, the reporter smelled what was coming out of the exhaust pipe, and said it smelled like when you're doing the laundry.
My main concern would be the thought of driving them in cold climates. When you leave the car out in cold weather w/ less than 1/2 a tank of gas, you chance the fuel lines (and sometimes fuel) freezing up...Imagine now, a car that runs completely on water.

The hydrogen cars are powered by fuel cells and cells are of hydrogen. Commercial utility to full extent can come with more facilities and infrastructure to recharge these cells. Research is already on hand to power locomotives also and prototype is expected in 2008.
Hence it is more with infrastructure facilities that are to come up and already cars are running with fuel cells.

Don't kid yourself that hydrogen cars are good for the environment.

The fuel cells need to be manufactured and the energy for the car has to come from somewhere. This usually means a polluting power plant.
