I made some muffins the other day that were called poppy seed/lemon muffins and my husband got a migrane from eating them. Was it the poppy seeds that did it?

Poppy seeds do not normally cause migraines, but that doesn't mean they didn't in his case. Look on the mix label, I suspect some other ingredient may have caused the migraine such as using a muffin mix that contained monosodium glutamate (MSG). It is also possible that some other event/trigger caused it such as barometirc pressure drop, medications, nitrates, chocolate, nuts, etc.

LOL, sorry when I first read that, I read it as POOPY seeds, oh, I needed the laugh! Thanks!
I havent searched this site all the way through, but so far I havent read anything about headaches, but it seems possible to me. Here's a site Im positive you will want to read. Let's hope your husband is not going to have a drug test at work in the near future. Im sorry, the POOPY seed thing is still stuck in my head. I can't thank you enough for your question! Your man will be just fine, though. A good one to you both!
