AWESOME QUESTION

While for their convenience, police keep records on grievances out of the public eye, even not revealing numbers, you may get to what you need through FOIA (the Freedom of Information Act).

Go to their website for the procedure, and find a comfortable chair. This may be long if the cops want to give you the run around.

In the meantime, go to the police station and ask for a grievance form. Fill it, swear it, return it VIA CERTIFIED MAIL, or in person (ASKING FOR A RECEIPT). When Internal Affairs tells you that they find no reason to substantiate your claim, send a note to mayoral candidates and legislators. You may get more accomplished during election year.

Good luck

Go to the police station, pay about $5 or $10 and get a print out.
