Like would you by a house? Blow it all? Help needy? Invest in property? Buy your own business? Go on a holiday?

Im just curious as to what people would do with that kind of money if they had it. Thanks :)

I would pay off my mom's debt, buy her a new car and truck, build her a log cabin with a stabble and 3 horses. Put 30,000 away for the rest of my education, put 1million away for my brother, and 1million for my son. Give some to my family and friends (so they can get their a$$es an education) give a some to charity, and invest the rest. I'm not one of those people who wants a million dollar house and 20 cars so although it seems like i would be spending a lot, remember how much 5 million is.

Depends on how I came by the money. If it's stolen or drug money I would run as fast as I could away from it, inform the police, and keep running. If I won it by a lottery, well . . . I would pay off my intermediate family's bills, give a large amount to my relatives in America and the Phillippines, and donate the rest to charity. I would buy a car, but that would be quite useless since I'm afraid of driving.

I would buy a new house, donate a $250,000 to charity...get the car i've always wanted, put some aside for my family members.
And startup a business (family business maybe)..

After all that.. I would keep the remaining 2 million or so in a savings plan that can give me 10% per annum interest.
:)
Thats 200,000 bucks a year for the first year alone..and the amount would increase by the years!

I would buy myself a house and new car, buy my mom a house and new car, put some into savings for my little sisters to go to college, help my gramma and make sure she's on her feet and well taken care of..i would definitely put some (most) up for saving and hire a financial advisor to help me not lose control of the money and go on a spending spree...But i would surely have my fun times...

share it with my family, buy a huge 2 bedroom house with a basement suite for the friends who desperately need a temporary place to live, give some to Our Daily Bread {local soup kitchen]. Put the rest in the bank.

i doooooonnnnnn't knooooow maam. that dream it's to high for me. i always buy a lottery, and always had some dreams that you mentioned ( i never hit one at all). So it's makes me tired to think about something to hhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhhh.
If you have the same case w/ me, you have to stop it now before you get sick. But if you really had $ 5 million cash, just pick something that fit w/ your ability, brain, and your happines ok. good luck

half of it would go into a seperate bank account. half i would use for the normal things, buy a house and a car. the other half set aside would be to help families with terminally ill children, but in a different way than they are normally helped. when my son was terminally ill my husband quit his job to be home with me so i didnt have to go through it alone. i had my mother to help us, but other people arent that lucky. i would pay all of the utilities for the family and the rent/morgages if necessary so that both parents could afford to stay home with their child and have more memories than they woud have if they had to work. i would probably go through the make-a-wish foundation to find out the names of the families and all payments would be made anonymously. i dont want recognition for it, i know what its like to need that help. my mom paid our bills and gave us a chance to take our son to museums, fly helicopters, go deep sea fishing, all the things my son wanted to do. because of her help my son got to live a life that most of us dont get to in our entire lifetimes. every day was a new adventure until he reached a point where he couldnt anymore. thats what i would like to provide for other families, to have those kinds of memories.

I want to buy a farm to have a permanent home/therapy/support system for homeless people. They can stay forever if need be or go try to 'mainstream' whenever they think they're ready.

Buy a house, take care of my family, take just enough to survive, and then give the rest away.
