I have tried everything to get my dog to stop soiling the floor but he won't stop. He is about 6 to 6 1/2 months old male Chihuahua. He used to be so good about going in his litter box when we first got him for a about a month and then all of a sudden he started to go on the floor every where. I have tried sprays and powders and cleaning and showing him his litter pan and telling him "potty" but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No house hold or routines have changed. Would it just be easier to have a pad instead of the pan. He was trained before we got him and did it for about a month after we got him and now it's like he lost the know how.

Chi chis can be stubborn. I have a female. He is hiking by now and trying to figure out how he would hike in a litter box? I only use those for the cats. We have used the pee pads for small dogs.
Did you move the litter pan or change litter brands? I encourage all dogs to be allowed to go outside when possible. Now dogs will sometimes act up out of spite. Any changes in household or routines that may have upset him?

Chihuahua's are known for doing their business on the carpet. Alot of dog professionals say this can be caused by an attitude they have. Have you recently moved or had any major changes in your home? If so it may be that your pet is upset and seeking extra attention. If not, have you tried any professional dog training?

Any other breed, I would say to rub their nose in it, However, a Chihuahua is the hardest dog to train. Do you know how many people who have them and their pet cannot be broken? It is so gross to be in a place where dogs pee or poop in the house. Good luck, you need it.
