ITALIANO

Italian, Portugese, or French. Because they all have a Latin base, they have many words in common with Spanish. Sometimes the words are spelled exactly the same just pronounced differently. Sometimes the words are so similar to Spanish you can guess the meanings. I guess what language you want to learn depends on what your plans are. I've heard German or Russian is a good language for travelling arouind Eastern Europe. If you want to travel to Africa or Brazil, Portugese might be your best bet. French is still spoken in Africa as well as parts of the West Indies, and some of the pacific Islands. French was once spoken in Vietnam, and it still is spoken in Quebec,Canada. I would say go with the language that best suits your travel plans, also what is most esthetically pleasing to your ear. I like the sound of French more than the sound of Portugese personally The more reasons you can think of to learn a particular language, the more motivation you will have and probably the easier it will be to learn it. If you want a language that may someday rule the world--I'd study Chinese. I love languages and wish I could speak them all. As you know, learning even a few phrases in other languages can open the door to friendships.

Well, because you already speak Spanish, Italian might be a good language to learn since there are lots of similarities between the two languages. Or, you might want to think about taking up an East Asian language (Chinese, Japanese or Korean). With one of those languages, you'd definitely have lots of opportunities in the business world.

As you can see, those ''easy languages'' are already spoken by a lot of people because they are easier to learn, so for a job, you will be one more candidate with the same qualifications. Why not learning chinese (mandarin or cantonese), russian or arabic...which will be in demand in the next couple years... then you'll be a step ahead everybody else. One thing is true, the more languages you learn the easier it gets to learn the others.

Another language that also has latin roots (like French, Italian or Portuguese) would be easy to learn because you'd have cognates from both English and Spanish.

I'd definitely say Russian or Arabic.

Both of them require you to learn another way of writing but Mandarin is so difficult with its huge collection of characters. Personally I don't think it happens very often that people who study Mandarin obtain a satisfactory level unless they live there for a long, long time.

In comparison it's easier to learn to speak Russian and Arabic to an acceptable standard.

ASL:American sign language. Easy to learn, and helps you get better jobs. You can still be in high school and work as an ASL interpreter for 20-30 dollars an hour.

How about Latin? It will make you instantly know the meaning to hundreds (if not thousands) of commonly used medical and legal terms.

Latin is closely related to Spanish, so it would be easy for you to learn its grammar.

Plus, people always sound intelligent when speaking in Latin.

Since you already speak two so-called world languages, what about some of Central European languages. Slovak, Czech, Hungarian, Polish?

Since you already know two languages with Latin base, I suggest you go for a lanuage which is not based on Latin.

If you are in IT, learn Chinese. Good job opportunities are there.
