Pain in the butt. I went to a po-dunk used lot. I like going here because they are scum. I picked out a car I liked and had a mechanic check it out. Found some problems and told the dealer to fix them. They declined, so I walked. As I am walking to my car, they call my cell and ask me to come back. I told them that the only way im coming back is that they fix the car. In the end they did. I eneded up getting a really good deal. Make sure you have a mechanic check out a car thuroughly if it does not come with a good warranty. And never show emotion about a car.

I made a bad car purchase many years ago and vowed never to make that mistake again.

One time when I was attempting to purchase a car I got thrown off the lot. I really didn't do anything "wrong" to deserve being thrown off, but I did stand my ground. Since I was standing on the ground they owned I guess they felt they could ask me to leave, which I did and I found a car right down the road from a private seller.

Peace.

Research is your biggest tool. Go to the lot with what you want in mind, and keep it in mind! Don't let the salesperson tell you thats the bottom dollar because it isnt. Some of those dealerships are making over $4,000 in profit on thier smaller lines.

Be aggressive and go after what you want. Salespeople are pushy, just push back and they'll give. If you dont get exactly what you want, move on. There are plenty of great deals waiting for you out there!

Have fun and good luck!

Went to the lot with my best male friend. The dealer spoke only to him, and constantly referred to me as "the little lady." We left and went to another lot, and bought a car. The salesman keeps a personal mailing list of everyone he's ever sold a car to -- and although he has moved from dealership to dealership, I have never gotten off his mailing list. UGH! How many cars does the guy think I am going to buy???

Well I went to a Lexus dealer recently and asked a salesman if they had a certain color & option in stock. He said he had to go check inventory and he actually said to the effect that why should he go look if I'm not going to buy that day. I said if they have it, I will buy.... that got him the mojo to go look. I immediately got in my car and left. He wanted a guarantee from me that I'd buy because he was too lazy to do a simple job. What a jackass.

Bought the 2007 RX350 elsewhere. The idiot cost himself about $2000 in commission.

Mine was cool. That was because I made sure the salesperson knew that I was fine if I got the car and I would be fine if I didn't. And above all, he knew I could smell crap from a mile away, so he knew not to try to sell me any... this was my fourth brand new car and all of them were purchased on my terms :)

well i went with my boyfriend to buy a car. he was co-signing for me, the sales man paid more attention to him than me, took mainly his information and let him test drive the car. we did the paperwork for the loan and they assumed the car would be under his name. so we went home to wait for the financing to go through. he went to take the downpayment to them and they had his name primary on the account. he told them to change it to my name and they promised they would. well that saturday we went to pick up the car and i noticed that they'd made him the primary and me the co-signer. i was pissed, he said i would get a better rate and monthy note if it were to be that way. i wanted the car so i ended up just taking it. i felt that was deceptive and underhanded but i am greatful to have an almost new car with a monthly payment i can afford.

Test drove a Tahoe at Sundance Cheverolet, Lansing, Mi. The guy wouldn't tell me a price on it, he wanted us to make an offer in writing. I told him no way. He said "well thank you for wasting an hour of my time" We flip that place off every time we drive by.

We purchased a Tahoe at a different dealer the very next day.
