talk to your teachers they are there to help. you could always try to take deep breathes to calm yourself. i know what you are going through, during junior year i to was stressing out because my grades were not so good but it is okay, remember just because you failed high school it is not the end of the world. that is what City college is for. it is there to help, do not stress out if you can't do what you need to do right now, you have all the time in the world. good luck with the surgery and take the ACT if you can, i think it's better than the SAT

Everything works out in due time. Take one day at a time. Getting stressed out about it won't help. Just keep up on your school work. PSAT's are no big deal. Think about 24 hours from now. Your surgery will be a thing of the past and you will be on the mend. Wishing you the best!

don't stress D. i'm a girl, i know! the good part is, you are not alone, it's perfectly normal to feel stressed. relax, be yourself. don't freak out about grades, just do your best to learn...that's what it's really all about anyway. i hope that your surgery goes well, i know from experience how stressing just that can be, let alone all the other stuff you deal with on a daily basis. for relaxation i know it might sound silly, but a nice hot bath works wonders to help you relax. it's a good way to de-stress. another thing to do is deep breathing exercises. controlled breathing is really all it is, but you have to concentrate on it, and it helps you relax not just physically, but mentally as well. it sounds so simple doesn't it? it's not. try it. deep breath...beathe in, feel it. feel it in your lungs, let it out slowly. do it again, then do it again until your head starts to clear, (or you start to hyperventilate) (just kidding) do the breathing exercise anytime you feel stress coming on, it helps clear your head, helps you think straight and can help you build self confidence. the main thing D, is that you are way too young to be worried about so much. alot of this stuff you worry about will take care of itself, just remain focused on learning. tests are really no big deal or a great indicator of what you've actually learned, so don't sweat the grades if you know in your heart you are doing your best. now, on the other hand, if you are stressed out because you have been a slacker, then disregard this answer.

firstly, i want to say that what your feeling is completely natural!
"without the stress, we cannot relax"
i say this because everything is relative.
"without the sour, there is no sweet"
the ability to relax is a reward after a time of pressure. if everything was relaxing and easy, then nothing would get done!
its the hardships in life that motivate us to be and do better.
only in times of crises and despair do we endeavor to find our true selves and this is when we reach down for that last sparing inch of energy and do wonderful things.
so to answer your question...
you can relax a thousand different ways for a quick fix... yoga, meditation, herbal teas, walking, distraction, massages(if you have a nice girl/boy friend) and socializing. all great ways to mentally stimulate yourself differently to stress.
But! i think you (and this is just my opinion) should appreciate a certain amount of stress, use it to motivate you and your studies, use it as a deterrent for the rest of the year against slacking (I'm not implying you are by the way), and then feel the great satisfaction of achievement once the stress levels return back to earth.
Stress is your brains way of telling you that your concerned. work out what your worried about, work out why your worried about it and work out what you need to know/do to not be worried about it then do it.
i hope that your grades are impressive, to you, and that your feelings of stress dissipate.
and trust me, stress is training. the next time you have a similar situation, you will be able to approach it with a brighter view because you've been there before!

Is there someone you can talk to like your parents, a friend, some one from a group or church? Is there a teens help line in your area. Look it up in the phone book in the blue and white pages. I usually listen to my favorite music, color, paint, or read. What you have to do is let some of your worries go. Believe me this is nothing right now. Just relax your going to have surgery and be out of it for a couple of days. Once you recoup, just start studying for your test and exams. Hey i was a teenage mother and worried all the time about being a single mother and grades. I learned to take care of what i can and relax.

you can only do so much in one day .and if your haveing surgury then that means something you need to do is let that be the focus not worry but focus on healing mentally seeing that will help the doctors .in the way i think that will do more then the doctors .stop back up close your eyes and breath .as long as your reasponable the work and all will get done .dont over burden when it is not nessassy .sometimes people dont talk about whats going on in their own life and then the people around them doesnt understand why one slows down or is not doing the normal of their selfs without letting the right people knowhow things aregoing can cause stress and alot of it .sometimes you dont even realize that they need to know and just them knowing helps .the ones you think will cause you the most harm in dealing with a mistake are usally the ones that will help you threw the trouble the most

you have a long life ahead of you.
you will graduate high school.
maybe go on to college.
what ever you do,
have a great time when you are young,
and along the way.
don't sweat the small stuff, don't.
be cheerful in all things, because you will get
older as each day goes by.
you will face many things;
a family perhaps, and have to worry about how things will fall.
relatives close to you will die.
that is life.
what you need to do now is set a foundation
for the rest of your life, and expound on it,
with a positive mental attitude to see you thru all that
is thrown at you.
i hope i've been helpful to you.
good luck in all things.

Welcome to the wonderful world of adulthood.
You're already passing the test.
Someday you'll have to go through this crap again, but the next time you'll maybe have a loving mate and kids that depend on you.
Right now, I figure your family is with you. Whether they know how to show it, or not.
Be strong. You'll survive. Have faith in yourself. We need you. (And you're family needs you, too. And same with your future family.)
You've got about 4 million years of human evolution wrapped up in you. You can do the job, even if we can't hunt woolly mammoths anymore.

It's difficult to "do something" to become relaxed. Often thinking about how to relax just stresses you out even more. Just think about all the things you thought were obstacles/issues that you've overcome and recall how stressed you were before that. Issues do get resolved. Sometimes they don't work out the way we wish they would but they DO get worked out.
Remember, it can't rain ALL the time. :)

Good Luck with surgery! Drink hot tea. Its soooooo good and it usually relaxes you. Playing video games or whatever. Or just enjoying some of your fav. hobbies. No one can help but feel nervous or stressed when it comes to surgery.
