I follow the religion of Abraham. He was a strong advocate of monotheism and worked hard to preach it. He was tested by God which he overcome successfully and he proved his belief is important to him than any thing else in this world

Edit: I won't agree he was the first monotheist, I believe Noah, Adam etc. were also monotheist.

The three monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam claim Abraham as their spiritual, and in some cases literal, ancestor. But he was not a teacher, merely a man who followed God's direction and entered into a covenant (partnership or agreement) with God. The teacher of Judaism was Moses and his teachings are the firstfive books of the Bible. The founder and teacher of Christianity was Jesus, whose teachings are summarized in the Gospels of the New Testament. The founder and teacher of Islam was Mohammed, whose teachings can be found in the Quran.

No other religion claims a relationship to Abraham.

well Adam and Eve-pbut were. followed by Noah-pbuh and then after generations came Abraham-pbuh and Moses-pbuh. it was from Abraham-pbuh that they spilt, if Hagar-a.s and Ishmael-pbuh were along with Abraham-pbuh -- today others would without a doubt acknowledge Islam as true religion. but Allah had given it to us the hard way.

Holy Book was given to Abraham-pbuh. The Suhuf-i-Ibrahim (Scrolls of Abraham) (Arabic: صحف ابراهيم) are part of the religious scriptures of Islam, and are now believed to be lost.

In two suras, which are to be dated from the first Meccan period, there is a reference to the 'leaves, scrolls' (suhuf) of Abraham and Moses, by which presumably texts of revelation are meant (87:18-19; 53:36-37). The contents of this revelation is not known from the Qur'an.

there are basically 4 Holy Books of Abrahamic religion
Zabur -- revealed to David -pbuh
Torah -- revealed to Moses -pbuh
Injil or Bible -- revealed to Jesus-pbuh
Qu'ran -- revealed to Muhammed-pbuh
these are all branches of a same FAMILY tree.

Abraham is not the source of the major religions. Jesus the Christ is the focus of the major religions. God told Abraham that he would be the father of many nations because of his willingness to be obedient in giving a blood sacrifice which God did not require him to complete. He was checking his willingness. Therefore because of the willingness to be obedient God made promises to Abraham of blessings and prosperity which belong to us if we know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. If you read Galatians chapter 3 specifically verses 8 through 29 you will be able to verify what I have said. If we are in Christ then the blessings of Abraham belong to us for we are part of all nations that are blessed. This is where Abraham comes into the major religions of today. He is not to exalted, only Jesus Christ is to be exalted.

Abraham had two sons. One legitimate (Isaac) and one illegitimate (Ishmael). Isaac continued the Jewish tradition as well as the genealogical line from which Jesus Christ came. Hence both Judaism and Christianity. Ishmael is the father of the line that started Islam. So in a sense, Abraham was the father of three major world religions.
If you read the first 5 books of the Bible, you can get a sense of what Abraham stood for.

It is actually from the "Seed" of Abraham - his descendants, that there are many of the world's major religions today.

Muslims, who are Ishmael's descendants, account for one third of the earth's population. Christianity, which is sprang up from the Jews, is in Isaac's line and accounts for another one third of the population. All the other religions of teh world make up one third.

as the first devoted biblical monotheist, G-d singled him out for his righteousness and promises that his descendants would become a great nation. abraham himself didn't really teach anything, it was his monotheism and relationship with G-d that are important about him.

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all trace their roots to Abraham.

Abraham believed
+ In the one true God (monotheism)
+ You should talk to God (prayer)
+ You should listen to God
+ You should try to follow the will of God

This was the beginning of God starting to reveal Himself to the human race.

With love in Christ.

Yes Abraham/Ibrahim prophet is called as the father of all prophets excluded Adam so the source of the major religions Jews.Christians and Muslims is Al Hikmah given by Allah to Abraham prophet
.Abraham is the founder of Kabaa who was assisted by Ismael as the central direction of muslim praying around the world.
All muslims who are going to fulfil haj pilgrimage annually followed the deed of Abraham prophet and his son Ismael prophet i.e.thawaf seven times going round of Kabaa the house of Allah and praying at Abraham maqom and running from Safaa to Marwaa hills seven times vice versa at Mecca and throwing stones to satans at Mina and praying and dzikir or remembering Allah at Arafaa field
We muslims celebrate Iedul Adha once in a year for remember-
ing the day when Abraham received Allah instruction that he should slaughter his beloved son Ismael as a testing of his faith to Allah, but at last replaced by Allah to a goat,
Ismael prophet is the founder of zam zam water when he was sitted alone on the sand by his mother Siti Hajar the legal second wife of Abraham
Abraham prayed to Allah and asked Allah for becoming his descendants would be strong faith to Allah and it was permitted by Allah
Abraham had a second son called Ishaq a prophet born by his first legal wife Siti Sarah..David/Daud,Moses and Yesus were the descendants of Abraham too.Allah gave holy books called Zabur to David prophet ,Taurat to Moses and Bible to Yesus and the last holy book Al Qur'an to Muhammad pbuh.
Yesus is a descendant of Abraham from Ishaq prophet and Muhammad is descendant of Abraham from Ismael..Ismael and Ishaq are old and young brothers as sons of Abraham...
The deviation of monotheism principle was made by the writters of Taurat who recognized Uzair as the son of Allah for Jews and writers of Bible who recognized Yesus as the son of Allah for Christians. So the real, consistent and trusted religion teaching is monotheism as laid by Allah through Abraham and updated by Allah through the last Muhammad prophet pbuh..Since Abraham era there were an obligation from Allah for praying only to Allah, fasting, paying alm/donation ,give honour to parents etc
