Which train station I would have left NYC from in 1910, for Kansas, what's the route and stops along the way?

Would I leave from Penn Station? Grand Central? Where can I find out what the stops would be on the way to Kansas? Have found railroad history sites, but not this specific info. Thanks.

Assuming you had traveled on the New York Central (which in 1910 was the New York Central and Hudson) you wouldn't have left from Grand Central, as it wasn't completed until 1913.

You would have ridden the Twentieth Century Limited to Chicago and connected there to continue to Kansas.

Or, you may have opted for the Pennsylvania Railroad's Broadway Limited to Chicago, again connecting to another carrier. Here I believe you would have begun your trip from New York at Penn Station.

If you had taken the Chicago North Western from there, you would have gotten to Kansas City.

If you had connected with the ATSF (Santa Fe) you would have gotten to Kansas City, Topeka or Atchison.

If you had connected with the Milwaukee Road, you would have ridden the Hiawatha and gotten to Kansas City.

If you connected with the Missouri Pacific, you would have gotten to Atchison.

Sorry I can't give you the names of all the little "jerk water" towns along these routes, but perhaps if you search company archives of the carriers listed above you may be able to develop this information.

In addition to what HOGHEAD tells you I believe you could have also started from the Erie RR terminal in Hoboken, NY, just across the river from NYC.
