I'm a Vietnamese guy coming to Sydney for studying, but my English is still too bad!
the situation is better with the female Vietnamese students because they just quickly hang up with local boyfriends and improve their English. But because I am an Vietnamse male, and acctually there a lot of...local gays (especially around my place-Newtown) want to date me, which is scary.
Can anyone know somewhere or someone can help me to improve my English, i mean the speaking and listenning because my writing and reading is ok.
I found out the local people speak quite fast and their accent is unique and different with things I was teached at home. In addition, everyday language is quite different with things in books and includes lots of slang.
Can anyone help me?! and tell me whatever i can do for you in return!?

Hi there. I really do feel sorry for you. I think you should go to esl classes.(english as a second language classes). They might help you but if you can't afford them then go to any search engine online, eg. www.yahoo.com and type esl classes inthe space.

That might help you.

Good Luck.

If it bothers you to go out because of the gays, and you cannot understand the local dialect. Invest in a headset and a few tapes and Moms the word.Other than that just 10 miles away are vietnamese suburbs.
