I've always been the biggest Beatles fan and I've wanted a tattoo of John Lennons self-portrait it's a very simple line drawing for about 7 years so I dont think I'll change my mind and regret it. I want it to be small and Im going to put it on my hip so you wont be able to tell it's there unless Im wearing a swim-suit. Would a guy think that's trashy? or bad? I wouldnt get any other tattoos and I have no weird piercings and my hair is a normal color but still what would I guy think of that???

You should never do ANYTHING for or by the opinion of anyone but upi, especially if it's a body modification!!!!! Do what you want to do because YOU want to. Not because it's cool or "hawt" or you think it'll get more attention from the guys....
You probably shouldn't get it if you had to ask this question. peer approval is useless when it comes to your body. THey don't have to carry it, you do. If you need other's go ahead to do it, then just reconsider....or wait until you mature more...
You have to realize that every man is different. Everyone's personal prefrence is different. Do this for yourself, and yourself alone, if you REALLY want it...that's all I cangive ya.
Okay..... Um, I have multiple piercings, Bright orange hair, and bigger highly visible tattoos, and I still have all kinds of guys all over me around here.... (which sucks, I'm happily married)...so that statement was kind of stupid, sorry, but it really was...

I agree with Ms Murder ^^ up there. I also have multiple tats and I've never yet had a man have an issue with it. As a matter of fact, I've bumped into a lot of men who really like tattoos on a woman. I've got 'em crawling out of the woodwork. I don't remember the last time I had to buy my own dinner. (Unlike Ms Murder ^^ up there, I am single. I definitely take advantage of this.)
While most of my tats are not visible to the casual observer (I tend to dress up to the neck), I do have a large tattoo of Odinn's Ravens on my left arm in Tribal Black. If I wear short sleeves, you can plainly see one of the ravens. If I wear a thin, white outfit, you can see the tattoo through my clothing. I get a lot of questions about it, but never had anyone tell me they thought it was 'gross'. On the other hand - my ears aren't even pierced. I think that's gross, personally.
If you are worried what someone else is going to think - you have no business getting tattoos! You get tats because they mean something to you. You get one if it 'feels right'. If nothing 'feels right', no tat. If someone else thinks it's gross and that bothers you, no tat. Is very simple, no?

ETA: Ms. Murder, I word everything kinda funny. (And yes, I see it too. Now! LOL!) Is just how I am. Sounds right in the head, but does confuse others at times. Maybe I need a picture board and a pointer, no?

I guess it would depend on the guy you ask. But honey, if you are THAT concerned with what other people think, don't get it. I personally don't care what people say about my 23 piercings, odd hair color and tattoos.
Do what YOU want to do and what will make you most happy. If you live your life worried about what other people think of YOUR choices, then you'll be miserable and sad that you missed out on something.

Depends on the man.
Most men are pretty easy going with tatoos that are small. Even though it is a self portrait of some guy...
The only men you might get caught in some cross fire are religious men, or men from other cultures who are not very leaniant of defacing your body...

who cares what a man thinks or anybody else about whats on your body they should like you for you. if you like who cares, i like tattoo and if my boyfriend doesn't like..so to hell with him. and i don't think it is trashy, i have two tattoo and three piercings and i love them and to some people they are trashy and some not. just do it for you it is your body.

It depends on the guy. Some do not like tatts at all and some love girls with tattoos. Personally I don't mind girls with them. It doesn't turn me on but it doesn't turn me off. BUt I do not like girls that are covered with them.
