Though there never is really a right time...let the person get to know you. Without knowing that you have bi-polar. Once they really get to know you and they already accept you. Tell them. If they really care about you, it shouldn't matter to them at all because they already know who you are and that doesn't change it.

It's probably best to let someone know up-front, especially if you think there is a chance the relationship could develop into something further. Yes, people's perception changes but it changes with each passing day. After a first fight the perception will be changed.
If I was in a new relationship and the woman was bipolar and knew she was I'd admire the courage it took to let me know about it! BPD is a disease as real as any other medical illness. Anyone worth having would understand that and if they cared about you, would still want to be with you. Just be honest and give them the information they need to decide how they want their life affected by it.
Good luck.

First date if you never want to see them again. Just before you get married if you're a complete asshat. Somewhere in between the two works for most people, but you'll have to judge when. The how is maybe more important than the when.
Are you on meds? Are they working?

Get into the "relationship level" after about 4 dates.
You need to share this.. this disorder is a genetic one, so that will effect the children you plan to have with your future mate.
My brother is Bi Polar and thank God we found out and we can help him be the best man possible.

If you really care about someone, you should tell them. Generally wait a week or two and get to know them, and then tell them. It's not something to be embarassed or ashamed of- it's who you are. If they freak out, they're not a very good person anyway.

Let them get to know you for awhile first. If they notice different behavior and ask about it, tell them. If they can't deal with it, after knowing you for awhile, you are better off learning that early. Otherwise , when you both begin trusting each other with other very personal matters, it will be time.
Good Luck

Wait until you both are really serious about the relationship. Or watch a movie that deals with people who have bipolor. That's a good way to open up conversation about it
