The only stuff you should avoid is avocado, chocolate, caffeine, Rhubarb leaves and alcohol. Otherwise anything goes! They love carrots, tomatoes, apples, oranges, pomegranates, and mine will fight over salad mixes. Those contain cabbage, romaine lettuce, carrots, celery and sometimes endive or parsley. I will buy a frozen bag of blueberries or mixed veggies and pull out what I need. As a special treat I will offer them plain rice with cooked apples or fruit salad mixed in :-) .

Birds can be such picky eaters! It has taken nearly 2 years to get my Green Cheek to eat fruits and veggies. Spaghetti is his favorite dinner which is served on a tiny dinner plate. My White Eyed Conure, who is 15-years old, eats only specific things because his previous companions weren't adventurous with the foods. We're working on it though!

The others have given you a good list of foods but I'd like to add that I've been told that apple seeds are poisonous to birds so as a precaution, remove the seeds. My guys love oranges but they only get them once a week because of the acid and sugar. You should try to limit the amount of fruit that contains a lot of sugar like apples and grapes because, unlike their cousins in the wild, our birds don't get nearly the amount of exercise they should. A fat bird is an unhealthy bird. My guys only get these foods three to four times a week. Green vegetables, like beet tops and collard greens, are where they'll get the best vitamins. My problem is getting them to eat the healthy stuff! Arrrg! When feeding them, I sound like a mom talking to a 2-year old child, "Now eat your vegetables!".

One last cautionary thought: birds love corn and corn cobs but neither have much nutritional value so be careful how much you feed them. A treat now and then is great but corn should not be a main staple in their diet.

I have a Rosella Parakeet called Alfie and he absolutely loves my daughters raisins which she takes to school with her. He also adores blueberries and green grapes only! Apart from that he is quite fussy and simply refuses anything else I offer him!

Parrots love veggies more than fruit for some reason. Give your parrot a cup full of peas and I guarantee that he/she will enjoy
