This isnt' cancer.
This is a lymph node. We all have them expecially around our neck. I tend to call lymph nodes "filters". They do good things for us. They filter/ trap bacteria, viruses, and get rid of them from our body. Do you have a cold? Sometimes when we have a cold or are sick, our lymph nodes become inflamed. This is a sign of infection and can be cured by over the counter meds or antibiotics.

I dont know your age, but there are many glands and nerves in the connective tissues around the mandibular areas of both jaws. There are also these little round nodular glands called lymph nodes which can be felt there and also downward into the neck muscles from the jaw. If you are having pain with swelling, if you are cutting or have un-erupted (possibly impacted) wisdom, tooth/teeth, or if you have a tooth which could be forming an abcess, possibly with a fever.....contact your dentist, because there is so much bacteria in the mouth, infections which develope in the mouth which go untreated can even become deady (ever watched Dr. G Medical Examiner?) when they enter the lymphatic system. Enlarged lymph glands in the neck and jaw in an instance like yours could indicate an infection, so take care of you.....and have it checked out, either by your doctor, or your dentist....but, dont ignore it and dont let it scare you, it may be nothing wrong, just what is naturally there. But just in case, remember Diagnosis is the first and most important step in the healing process. When you find out what it is, it would be nice to know.what you find out. Best to you.

If you are worried about cancer , you could look up cancer in a net search. Like throat , oral cancer etc. Some time if you are already worried this search might you worry a bit further. In that case you better see a doc. Some time you will find things on these web pages which will look positive to you.
Anyway , keep monitoring this bump. See if it gets bigger or go away in time. but if it is still there after say 2 weeks , may be it is better to see a doc and clarify.
look up the following link . I think you have nothing to worry about.
but just monitor it anyway.

Now keep in mind that there are literally dozens of conditions that
can cause what you described. These of course range from cancer to acne so there’s no way possible for anyone to know for certain what you have unless they physically examined you and were educated in the medical field.

I have a bump above my right eye and another on my leg. My doctor said the one above my eye is probably a calicified mosquito bite and the one of my leg a group of blood vessels. The best thing to do is go to your doctor and have him/her look at it for you.

does it hurt? I used to get those all the time and they are like big pimples under the skin that you can't pop! Go to the dermatologist and they can get you some med. for them. He gave me cleocyn-t pads. not sure how to spell it.
