Well the truth is there are a lot of us who don't like our jobs but its a paycheck and as a nurse you should be making a good one. I'd try a change of scenery before giving up on it like in a slower environment.

Sit down and write a list of why you really hate your job. Figure out exactly what it is that bothers you about it. If you know what it is and it can be changed then fix it. If it cant be changed you may want to think about getting a new one or doing something different with your career. I know what its like to be at a job you hate. I hated mine and I figured out what the thing I hated was and mine was the people I worked with so I quit and I am sooo happy now. Your case might be different if the work load is what is bothering you then you have to make sure that you get more you time. Relax take a hot bath, join a yoga class...and the best thing for stress is exercise. Good luck

There are other high demand careers that don't take forever to get training. Pharmacy Technician, Medical Billing Transcriptionist, and many types of nurses. There is no reason why you should feel stuck where you are. Life is short, spend as much of it as you can doing something you enjoy or at least can stand.

OMG I know what you mean! I'm a senior and I've finished everything, got accepted to all my Uni's, but I'm STILL stressed about keeping up grades so my acceptance doesn't get revoked. And graduation is a scary thought altogether. lol, It's like the whole thing is really not going to end until it's completely over and we're gone.

Start reading the Bible everyday for 15 minutes. If you start in the Book of Genesis, you'll have completed reading it in one year. Even if you aren't a believer, you'll find yourself more at peace with yourself and those around you. It is a great book and still the best seller of all time.

The body can do the work, the mind does not have to continue to think in this direction.. you do it by choice. If you allow it to bother you, you are not in control of what you allow your mind to do. You have to think of stressful things if you are suffering stress.. Would simplify things and allow clearer thinking if you got your mind away from those things which seem to bother you.
Don't know how many other ways it needs to be said, to have it click in your mind.. In other words, you create your own stress!!

nursing is a great rewarding career, if your a RN, you can select other nursing fields within your profession, if your a LVN , upgrade your career to RN. to reduce your stress, as you have been taught, the patient is the one who is sick.
