Some people are looking for any thing to discredit Jesus and his followers even when the author said that it is fiction. They rely on it for security and comfort but not the truth.

quite apart from religion or nonfaith, the Da Vinci Code is fiction. The declare that the form, historic past, rituals and such are genuine is the 1st internet site of the fiction. The Priory of Sion did not exist till midway interior the direction of the final century. The "records" of the meant Priory have been solid and the guy who solid them admitted it under oath in a court docket docket. in simple terms approximately all of his innovations come from the e book "Holy Blood, Holy Grail." regrettably, there is in simple terms approximately not something in that e book the two that's precise. i don't know if Brown become molested by utilising a clergyman, dumped by utilising a woman that then went off to become a nun or become rejected by utilising the community seminary. yet once you examine all of his works, he of course has some genuine hangups/themes and is out to smear the Catholic Church, no count how plenty he has to deceive human beings to do it. There are many facts, like Le Prieuri de Sion... The symbols, about Opus Dei, and many more. The facts were represented by fiction.

Of course where are a doze of conspiracy and falsehood. Do you remember Satanic Verses of Salman Rushdie.

Well, why many people of the west believe it is true?

The same logic.

People today have access to more information then ever before, and it is becomming harder and harder for the churches to control what people believe. I don't think that there are that many people that believe the Divinci Code is one hundred percent truth, but since they can research all that Dan Brown has in the book, there are many people, including myself that are learning that what the churches have taught and still teach is not all truth either.

I think that there are logicalities in the DaVinci code that appeal to my yearning for greater knowledge about my religious beliefs...

That is... i don't necessarily agree or disagree but i use that book as a cushion to rest my faith on. Whenever I read something that shocks me and i go OH! THAT CAN'T BE TRUE. I sit down and try to reason with WHY it can't be true. Then I research, that way if someone is ever to say "Jesus had children" I can tell them that, through MY research, it isn't true instead of just blindly saying NU UH!

That book may have brought millions CLOSER to their religions.

Australian TV (ABC) had massive religious campaign against the movie. People were urged to boycott the movie. One of my best friends refused to read the book. She kept repeating "It's all lies". I couldn't reason with her.
Gave her a comparison with Harry Potter. I cannot understand the whole thing myself.
No wonder our parents teach us to avoid topics about religion & politics.

I believe in God & quite enjoy reading Dan Brown's books. However I'm not interested seeing the movie - Tom Hanks?? - please..

Why did so many people think that the movie The Blair Witch Project was actual footage of kids lost in the woods and getting killed? People are inherently gullible.... thus the popularity of chritsianity....

FYI, if you have not read the book in the opening forward the author states that it is a fiction story

I haven't a clue, other then God says Christians will be mocked and this is a mocking, no doubt. I haven't read the book, nor will I see the movie...I stick with the TRUTH, which IS the word of God. Sad to think satan has his claws in so many peoples lives, and they don't even know it. Only Jesus can protect us...

Because so many people are ignorant of church history. Because so many people do not realize that the Bible is true.

Because most people are sheep that are being led by false prophets.

I find it more than curious, I am extremely sad that people believe that book is true. We should educate as many people as we can in our sphere of influence. Thanks for the great question.
