I would not call taking my children to get the recommend inoculations "forcing". They cry and they don't want it, but it is over in less than a minute. They forget about it most of the time before we get out of the office.
Also, at every check-up my kids get their fingers pricked for a CBC and iron count. Trust me, they may not like it, but it is necessary to have healthy kids.
It might bother you more than them....and they will pick up on any fear/anxiety more than anything!!!

the nurse chased my daughter round the exam table. The nurse knew I was also a nurse so when she caught my daughter she held her and handed the syringe to me, and I gave the shot. It's a funny story for my daughter and I now. Nothing bad happened. She needed the shot. If the shot is needed for your child's health you should encourage them thru it. You are not a bad parent if you make your child get a shot.

YES. My 5yo, who is quickly becoming stronger than both my wife and I, has to be physically restrained. It's horrible and my wife cries. But the child hates shots. The last time, I sat in a chair and wrapped my arms around his arms just above the elbows, gripping each elbow in my hand to keep him from slipping away. Then the doctor feinted and put the shot in the leg.
Normally - he's a great kid. Does his homework, eats his veggies, says please and thank you. But show him a hypo and he flips out!

Well a parent has to do what a parent has to do. Every child needs to have their immunization shots to enter school so its something that children need anyway, As a parent we do it for the health and safety of our children. What child likes to get shots. Even adults dont like it but its necessary. Children will cry, scream, kick and even bite lol. my child did it, but its something that needs to be done.

i never had to force my child, he's pretty good like that. But as soon as its over he crys a bit, gets his stickers and then its over. Don't make a big deal about it...try to comfort him. Tell him it won't hurt and it will be over in a second.

I have let my daughter have all the immunisations that she is supposed to have, if that is what you mean.
What happened? She got grumpy for a while, and also clingy, but within a few days she was back to her normal self again.

yes but its for their own good, if its going to prevent them from gettin some nasty virus like the flu or polio or whatever, then I will certainly do it. Nothing happened my lil one cried a bit but thats it, the older they get then you are able to explain why they are necessary. They still wont want them but at lease they will know you make them do it cause you love them not because you are trying to torture them! ;)
