It could be many things, but may be a sinus infection. I think that would be the easiest and least expensive thing to check out first. I wouldn't get too worried about it yet. If it goes on for very long and if the pain gets intense, you need to go for medical attention immediately. See if warmth helps make it feel better. Either use a heating pad or a warm, wet compress and see if you get any relief from that.
Good luck to you. I hope it doesn't hurt for very long.

If you feel around on the lower and inner side of your cheek bone, you will find a hole in the bone.. if that is sore to the touch, you will know that it is a nerve involved.. that is where the facial nerve exits the skull.. there is another one in the eyebrow... more toward the nose. will also probably be tender. There is an inflammatory process involving that nerve to cause it to be sensitive.. you will note similar tenderness at the base of the skull on the same side.

Remember to remove the spoon before drinking your tea and coffee. :)
It is probably a tooth. A dentist is usually a faster, cheaper and easier check than a doctor. Dentists are usually familiar with pains and other issues arond the face and jaw.

probably just sinuses an infection even if you have no stuffy nose or drainage can knot up in one spot in the sinus cavity and cause the sharp pains I suggest you go to the dr. anyway just to be sure you don'e have an infection or even a small cyst in your sinus cavity Good Luck

Yeah I agree...it sounds like neuralgia. Make sure your eye is closing all the way or not drooping. Bells Palsy might be a possibility also.
