Ethnocentricity is the tendency to look at the world primarily from the perspective of one's own culture. In that respect I would say the Western World as a whole...

I have a suggestion, look at the avatars with in this forum and read the things that are written, you'll have a pretty good answer...
I don't say this to be cynical, however, I have been a member of this feedback forum since the 13th and it is disheartening to read how Americans feel about other Americans.
Try to keep an open mind when you do this.

I think the Hassids take the cake. I lived near many in Brooklyn and they really don't acknowledge the existence of anyone but their own. I once watched a Hassid in his subway seat ride for 45 minutes without giving it up for the very preganant woman standing in front of him. Unbelievable. In all my time in NYC, I only saw one Hassid give up his seat to a woman or elderly person (of another race). I don't mean to sound against this group, but one notices rather strange social patterns when riding the same train every day.

judaism is pretty ethnocentric, especially orthodox jews. we respect other cultures and do not seek to convert them to our way of life, but at the same time judaism is very against non-jewish influences in our religion and culture and tries its best to avoid it. we try to keep judaism as unchanged and true to its origins as possible.
