every one has the right to embrace any religion of his choice . but what the christians do is to call all people as sinners . they have no business to call people of other religions as sinners . it is abuse and insult to the other faiths . The decry idolatory in the streets of acountry which believes in idolatory. it was right when might was right and in a barbaric society. But is barbaric now to do .they also threaten people that Jesus is coming immediately and he would judge people and would consign the non-believers to hell . iT IS AN OFFENCE AND INTERFERENCE IN THE RELIGON OF OTHERE PEOPLE . They also offer inducements for conversion. Such behaviours are barbaric and highly objectionable and contribute to co-existence of people of otjere faith .If they really respect the right of other faiths , they can not behave like this .Such behaviour on th epartof any religion will only lead to communal disharmony. The only religons that does not do anything to disturb the communal harmony is Hinduism .The major and modern man made religons are doing everything to disturb communal harmony by insulting other faiths and it is strange that they do not even have the capapcity to understand how barbaric it is to insult other faiths .
Threatenning people with punishment in hell for not elieving in any particular God and inducement / bribing people to embrace certain religions like politicians is bad and offensive . It is this character that is leading to the promulgation of the anti-convertion laws . even the high preiests do not seem to hav eth ecommon senseto understand the real situation and they speak against the anti-conversion law insted of advising the churches to behave in a civilized manner and not to abuse religous freed om,just because that increase in the numer of believers will increase the income of the churches through the thithes and influence of the churches over a large numbver of people so as to gqin political leveraqge . it is all simple reliogious POLITICS .of the churches

There's no reason any Hindu should like the activities of Christian mssionaries in India but consider this: Aren't they just exploiting vulnerabilities in Hindu society that orthodox Hinduism itself created? Surely you know that the caste system was never supposed to be heriditary. The ancient sutras are very clear on this. By letting it become heriditary, you have created large groups of people who are utterly alienated and open to conversion and/or subversion by Christians or worse.....

Hindu people created this problem for the Hindu Civilization and you must take the initiative in solving it. Bashing converts may make you feel good but it's not the answer.

One other question: Above I referred to conversion by "Christians or worse". Isn't Islam a rather more serious threat to the cultural integrity of Hindustan than Christianity? And isn't the secularism/economism of India's ruling class a greater threat than even Islam?

Are the activities of Christian missionarries towards Hindus (conversion) correct?

1.) Are they threatening anyone with damnation if they don't convert?
2.) Are they using swords?
3.) Are they incessantly harassing them?

If the answer is "none of the above", then I'd say the "activities" are motivated by a sincere intent to help...just like the activities any other peaceful evangelist.

I want peace, but I can't sell it to you. It's free.

Please let me correct you on this point! Did Mother Theresa ask any child to become a Christian when she picked them up from the street where they were thrown! How many people consider her a saint today, because of what she did and not what she spoke! If she were to propagate I don't think she would have a single follower!

There are 2 types of missionaries one is that who works and the other is that who talks! The second one is dangerous, cause he will preach yet not practise. Follow the one who is willing to work and worship through this practice of Christs teachings.

Catholic missionaries are identified by the habit they wear it is typical colour and is followed across by their entire order. The lead a life of poverty and simplicity. Their only aim is to make sure that people of all religions whether Hindus, Muslims, Dalits etc have equality and access to the basic rights which even the Govt has denied them. Is that wrong???? So if someone gets drawn towards this form of life and converts what is wrong!

The Hare-Rama Hare Krishna group converted millions of Europeans and Americans world over! I don't think the Westerns rushed into their temples and desecrated their idols! What about OSHO half of America fell prey to his abnoxious teachings.

My advice to Mr. Raghavan K is - all of us are sinners whether Christian or Muslim or Hindu or an Atheist. We in India know of many such persons who have not exactly acted in decent manner including murdering of Graham Staines and his 2 innocent boys that too when they were sleeping. For what ??? Working with lepers - some shuned by people of their own community - HINDUS!

The one who can show the way is only doing his job he has been called to. He himself has not judged he has been given a set of instructions/commandments by which he has to measure himself. How many times have you given advice to someone who asked you if he did something right or wrong????

Eventually, even conversion is of no use if the person does not live upto his call! He may convert in name to get a benefit but Christ whose eyes are all knowing and seeing will know how much in real a person belongs to him! The Good Shephard knows his sheep.

I feel the word conversion itself is bogus.
Either a person believes in god or does not believe. The one who believes does not require any religion to do it .Those who do not believe have no use for religion.
These conversions are only adding to the total number of branded beings for political gains. Lure is used as better living , better education, free medicines etc.
If all this is true no christian should be in want . That being not so my argument stands that conversion is only for adding to the numbers and i don't think it is gods work.
If really there is good will then help should be given without talking of religion

Missionaries major work is to serve other and show god by serving others

the people who has strong belief in god they need to request missionaries to convert their religion

but some landlords who will utilises dalit and un educated people by giving only few money for jobs, at that situation missionaries came and educate about the rights of each one and they teaches them every one is equal. This makes landlords to rise against missionaries and they will call it 'missionaries convert Hindu into other religion'

' one who has Strong belief in his religion never convert himself into other religion '

They used to think it was and probably some still do think so.

That is the problem of thinking that only one religion is right.

We have a rich diversity of ideas in this world. It is such a pity that we fight instead of coming together and sharing the knowledge that we have with each other.

We can still learn something from every person we meet.

Not correct, from the point of view of theology, law, ethics and decency.

Conversion is a change of religion and transferring your faith to the faith of a christian church. Where is the basis for this, in the teaching of Christ? To my knowledge, Christ did not found a religion. He was only for reforming the Jews religion. All the dogmas and strict indoctrination were later accretion after the teachings of St. Paul. If conversion to Christian church is going to ensure your redemption, what about the millions of the people who were born and died before Christ and will all of them be condemned for not having been born after Christ and not professing the Christian faith? If you believe that God is one, will He not manifest Himself in so many forms according to the perceptions of the different kinds of people, living throughout the world, in different circumstances and environs and can we expect to have a uniform religious faith and practices when that has not been possible even within the various denominations of Christianity?

All the charitable activities of the missionaries are centred around their avowed objective of conversion. In the charities that they render to the vulnerable sections of the Hindu society, you create an imperceptible and subtle obligation on the minds of the gullible and unlettered population and indirectly induce them to convert themselves to the Church.

While converting them, you do not merely convert their religion, but uproot them culturally. In your dogmatic passion, you revile their past faith and cultural moorings and through your organisational strength supported by funds from abroad you maintain a leech like hold over them and control all their religious and mundane activities. You never let them to use their free will to introspect and review their decision, through your weekly brain washing done from the pulpit. You call it sacreligeous if they partake in the offerings made to the Hindu deities, which hitherto had been considered very holy by them. Christian theology is full of fallacy. Many western philosophers have found the christian theology as the most disastrous. The Book of Genesis is the most short sighted interpretation of creation ever made. Their faith and perception of creation of life and the universe has been so shallow that it could not withstand the scientific findings of Darwin's theory of evolution. Galeleo and other scientists suffered in the hands of christian church, for their findings were at variance with their religious truth (untruth). That is the reason why as science advanced , most of the western world took to atheism, because the christian religion, as preached by these churches, could not hold their faith. Having been evacuated from the West, the church is now on a prowl in India and other Asian countries for poching. The African continent has already conquered by this sham faith. And now, they want to harvest from India. If they succeed in their mission, in their design at large scale conversion in the Indian sub-continent and as a result, the Hindu religion is reduced to a minority status, that would be the most saddest event in the history of mankind. The Hindu scriptures are the treasure of knowledge for the entire mankind. None of the modern scientific theories have shaken the fundamental truths propunded by many a rishi from the Hindu faith. It is the oldest of the religions. All belonged to this religion, originally. It spoke for the entire humanity. Vasudeva kudambaka, so says its scriptures. It means that the entire universe is a family. It is not confined to humanity alone but belongs to all the living and non-living beings in the universe. All the short-sighted missionaries, in their zeal for swelling their numbers to justify their recent conversion, in an euphoria, want to wipe out their parent religion. In the process, they want to throw the baby with the tub water.

There is no gain saying the fact that the Hindu religion needs a lot of reformation and introspection from within. The social evils that had brought bad name to it need to be weeded out.

But, that does not warrant conversion.
