I want to watch video/movies/news clips but can't because of the buffering and breaking up of video/sound. We live in the deep country where there is no high speed/cable connection. Satelite is TOO expensive for us. Thanks for the help!

It cannot be helped for dial-ups. It has to continue on buffering on and on. If you're watching a windows media video format (*.wmv) on the web, try right click on the video, select properties from the pop-up menu. Copy the url, open your windows media player, select the 'file' tab from above, click on 'open url', and paste it there. Then when it start playing or buffering, click on the 'file' tab again, this time click on the 'save media as' this way you windows media player saves the streaming movie on your hard drive, so you can watch it later, without the buffering problem. Problem is it stays in your hard drive, so you can get a lot of trash and unwanted videos in your HD. Be sure to check it often to get rid of unwanted videos in your HD.

If you're on a 56K modem, there's not a whole lot you can do to handle online video very well. You're limited at a very low rate no matter what software you use. Some video sites will deliver lower quality streams to modem users, but to get the best experience you're going to need to find a faster connection. I understand the situation though. Sometimes it sucks to live too far from a city where your choices are limited. But most of those "speed optimizers" for modems are just gimmicks and offer no real help. Only so much data can be sent through the line at a time.

this might be sad, but there's no way u can enjoy ur videos in a dial-up connection without breaking up ant stuff like that. It all depende how much info u receive in a certain amount of time.. if u receive a small amount (dial-up) the media might not work properly.

Your out of luck then, at best, make sure you have all other apps shut down including anything that is accessing the net. You might look to see if Verizon wireless is available in your area.
