I plan on taking a trip to southern cal. for a photoshoot and am wondering what kind of family activities/amusement parks are near that area? I want something for my family and I to do after the shoot. Thanks.

My daughter's only two so the activities would have to be centered around toddlers...

Okay, well, you have Disneyland in Anaheim off the 57 Freeway. Here are directions:

Take I-5 south. Exit Disneyland Drive and turn left (South) or Take I-5 north. Exit on Katella Avenue and turn left (West). Proceed on Katella Avenue approximately 1.5 miles to Disneyland Drive and turn right (North) or Take the 22 freeway. Exit on Harbor Boulevard, and head Northbound. Continue North on Harbor for approximately 4 miles. Turn left (West) onto Katella Avenue and turn right (North) on Disneyland Drive.

Then, there is Knott's Berry Farm and here are the directions:

Knott's is located just 10 minutes from Disneyland Park and 30 minutes from both John Wayne/Orange County Airport and downtown Los Angeles. The Park is situated on Beach Blvd. in Buena Park, one mile south of the 91 (Artesia) Freeway and two miles south of the 5 (Santa Ana) Freeway.

And also in Orange County you have Medival Times:
7662 Beach Blvd.,
Buena Park, CA 90620 QuickFind: We're 10 minutes from Disneyland and a block from Knott's Berry Farm.

In Los Angeles, you have Universal Studios in Universal City. Here are directions to Universal Studios:

Address:
100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608.

Universal City is located just north of downtown Los Angeles.

Directions to Universal Studios Hollywood:
From The Los Angeles International Airport:
Follow signs from the terminal to the 105 Freeway. Take the 105 Freeway East to the 110 Harbor Freeway North. After passing through the downtown area, get on the 101 Hollywood Freeway North. Follow the 101 Freeway to the Universal Studios Blvd. exit. Turn right on to Universal Studios Blvd. and follow the signs to Universal Studios and our parking areas.

From Hollywood:
Take the 101 Hollywood Freeway North to Universal Studios Blvd. and follow signs to Universal Studios Hollywood.

From Santa Monica:
Take the 10 Santa Monica Freeway East to the 405 Freeway North. Exit to the 101 Ventura Freeway East/South. (Signs to Los Angeles.) Continue on the 101 Freeway and exit on Lankershim Blvd. Turn right and follow the signs to Universal Studios Hollywood.

From Anaheim:
Take the 5 Golden State Freeway North. Exit to the 101 Hollywood Freeway North. Continue on the 101 Freeway and exit at Universal Studios Blvd.. Turn right on to Universal Studios Blvd. and follow the signs to Universal Studios and our parking areas.

Hope these help you...

Universal City Walk is cool as well..

I had been in Southern California earlier this year. What is the most famous when you say California? What places do you usually hear associated with it?

Los Angeles is the City of Angels. The most famous near this area is Disneyland in Anaheim. You can check in across Disneyland, the hotels there are just walking distance and not that expensive. Disneyland is not only for children but for adults too. It is for the entire family. You should go as early as you can, meaning the moment it opens. Themeparks are usually full during vacations. It will take you a whole day to visit this. You should not miss the parade and the fireworks which is usually at night. The following day, try visiting the California Adventure which is just opposite the entrance to Disneyland. The visit here can be for half day. Be prepared for the traffic over at LA area. It is not traffic over in Anaheim.

An example of my schedule earlier this year:
Saturday: Hollywood
Sunday: Knottsberry Farm
Monday: Disneyland
Tuesday: California Adventure
Wednesday:
Sea World in San Diego
Thursday:
San Diego Zoo in San Diego
I went back some other day with my cousins to visit the Universal Studios.
It is too enjoyable but it is too tiring! Check for the websites since there is a discount when you go to all of the themeparks or probably they might have promotions for the family !

How approximately Fantasyland? heavily, you had me going till you pronounced "do no longer could desire to pay for parking". that's the certainty on the coastline. manage it. in case you're in the west valley, the final thank you to pass is basically to go down a hundred and one, go out Las Virgines, and turn left. stick to Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon to the sea. there are various unpolluted seashores down there. Zuma includes strategies. you will could desire to pay for parking, yet once you head in direction of the tip by using tower 11 or 12, it is uncrowded and sparkling. you have great social gathering there. i do no longer recommend Dockweiler, considering that 747's are flying straight away over your head, and it makes your sandwich style like jet gas. the final seashores are in the OC: Bolsa Chica, Huntington, Balboa, and Corona Del Mar all have fire pits the place you have a bonfire.

Six Flags (in Valencia, I think), Disneyworld (in Anaheim), Huntington Gardens (Huntington Beach), Museum of Jurassic Technology (totally weird/cool museum in West LA), La Brea Tar Pits, Hollywood anything, Venice Beach (good for people watching), Museum of Tolerance (if you are into that)

The kid is 2? Any park. Ask the crew. You don't say where you will be shooting. Otherwise, the beach.

It's awesome. Or, you could go to San Diego... that's nice too, for different reasons :)
