My son took Celexa when he was 18 and it almost immediately sent him into murderous rages. He wound up in the psych ward a couple of times because he was so dangerous. It took months to get it out of his system. If it's making you aggressive, talk to your doctor before you do something that will mess up your life forever.

All these drugs cause sexual dysfunction.
Many drugs in this class are familiar in the USA through advertising, including the following:
(Trade names in parentheses)
citalopram (Celexa, Cipramil, Emocal, Sepram, Seropram)
escitalopram oxalate (Lexapro, Cipralex, Esertia)
fluoxetine (Prozac, Fontex, Seromex, Seronil, Sarafem)
fluvoxamine maleate (Luvox, Faverin)
paroxetine (Paxil, Seroxat, Aropax, Deroxat)
sertraline (Zoloft, Lustral, Serlain).
These drugs are called SSRIs. They should not be used as first line treatment for depression.
A novel antidepressant called Mirtazapine may be your best option. It doesn't cause sexual side effects.
Extended release versions of Bupropion is a good antidepressant with no sexual side effects. It is not associated with weight gain also.
Talk to your doctor about cross tapering to Mirtazapine or Bupropion XL.

I'm on 5 MG of Celexa and at first it can make you sleep and lose interest in daily activities but it gets better after a month or so. I been going on and off it unintentionally bc I forget to take it so it threw me off and made me worse but it does pass.

Some of the answers are downright wrong.
Call your pharmacist, NOW, tell him your symptoms and follow his directions. Than see your doctor first thing in the morning.
Sudden withdrawal from Paxil can cause drastic emotional swings or physically life threatening conditions.
If you suddenly start having increased hyper feelings, or increased anger shortly after beginning a new drug, you need to stop taking it immediately, and see your doctor. And if your prescribing doctor is not a mental health specialist, change doctors.
I am passing along what my shrink and pharmacist have told me.
I did not just make it up. Good luck

You could be withdrawing from Paxil, which has horrible withdrawals for so many people. Hence the class-action lawsuits for these so-called "non-addictive" drugs!
http://quitpaxil.info/chatboard/index.php for more on that.
Drugs don't cure anxiety or panic attacks. There's nothing wrong with you. Anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and obsessions are not caused by mental or physical illness. Anxiety disorders and panic attacks are caused by a tiny change in the way the brain handles anxiety signals from the sensory organs. Anxiety disorders and panic attacks are not caused by chemical imbalances...they can cause them, but they are not caused by them! This is why anxiety and panic attack medication doesn't work, it may mask the symptoms (if anything) and when they are stopped, it generally all floods back. You can overcome anxiety forever by resetting your brain. This re-set happens through a process called Operant Conditioning - it's the same process that happens when you learn new activities - like driving or playing an instrument - it's learning through repetition.

I have been on it for 6 months. I have my life back. I can feel again. It is a wonder drug for me but might not be for you. Try it for a few days if you dont have any major side effects stay on it for a month then go to your dr for a folloew up and go from there.

first of all psychotropic drugs don't have withdrawl because they aren't addictive.
Second of all, almost all antidepressents mess with sex life. Wellbutrin was the first drug that specifically marketed to help that area. I think zoloft is supposed to have low sexual side effects too.
Third, would you rather be depressed (which you probably werent having sex anyway) ?
My advice: it take 4-6 weeks for a psychotropic to get into your system and stablize so give it some time. If a no go try the wellbutrin. Depression control is more important though, you may want to go see a therapist to learn coping skills, and maybe one day you wont have to have meds. MAYBE.
good luck.
