Buddhism has a lot going for it, But I dont think I have time to be That dedicated. Its a lot of work to Zen everything. I have always felt that The simple laws of Wicca were the real truth, even way before I had ever known of wicca. It just seems to be inherant within me. Once I started learning about it, It just made incredible sence to me, and I was relieved to know that these things I'd always felt were actualy felt by others. When I found a teacher, and began some classes, and I saw the purple light that sometimes formed in her hands, as she spoke to us, I knew I was witnessing power, but a power of love and goodness. She is a very evolved spirit, who wishes others to know the right path. Wicca , done as it is meant to be done, Has no evil within it. It is a doorway to the vast knowledge and power of the universe. Some people can and do misuse it, for personal gain, vengeance, power over others, but that is not my interest in it. I want to have more control over my own little corner of the universe, and the things that affect me. It does provide the student with an advantage, but that is not a misuse. It is prudent to give yourself as much of an advantage as possible. It is up to the individual, how it is used. That will always be a factor for everyone, wiccan or not. It is up to the morality of the individual.Wicca doesnt go to the student The student goes to wicca. That's one thing I like about it. I love wicca! it is nature, and makes no excuses for nature, Birth Life death rebirth. The utter simplicity of Nature.

I chose Wicca beacuse it is not a male centric religion, honors me beacuse I am female dosent hold one kind of preson above one another and is very focoused on the practioner rather then the "goodies" and money surrounding the practioner. and as a Wiccan, who did a little more reading the the advrage bear I would like to prove that "Wicca Has Only Been Around Since 195-." IS WRONG. I want all you who think Wicca is older then that to look up the works of one Gareld Gardner and read his books. It is clear that wicca has not been on this planet long, also look into Alister Crowly, yeah he has a bad rap, but it behoovs you to look into your religions past and not just listen to a few popular writers. Study all you can. That said yes Wicca does harken back to older religions that have been around forever, but no WIcca it'self is not an "older" religion if fact it is very young.

When I was a Christian I studied the bible carefully and went with the church that closest kept the whole bible
I chose Wicca because it speaks to me and I like being close to nature. I also like some of the theories, some Wiccans including myself believe that religion is man's way of explaining the unexplainable. I like the way we do not proselytize, and all paths are valid and lead to Deity. I like the tolerance Wicca teaches. I know I am not as tolerant as I want to be but I am working on it.
To me karma makes sense and reincarnation. In reincarnation suicide is not acceptable because that means you will be reborn in the exact same circumstances over and over until you learn the lessons you are meant to learn, so it is best to hang in there and see it out till the end so you don't have to do it all over again.

There are many reasons. I was raised Christian and have many disagreements with Christian religions today. I don't dislike Christianity, it just did not match my preceptions of life and failed to meet my spiritual needs.
I drifted toward Paganism before I met my wife (who is Wiccan). Where Christianity was to structured, most Pagan belief systems were not structured enough for me. Wicca is the good balance for me in Western Civilization.
I could no longer agree with the idea that I had to make my connection with a devine presence through one source, clergy. I do not agree with being absolved of all your wrongs against others simply by confession. I believe you reap what you sow. Good begets good, bad begets bad. In the natural way of things everything has an equal and opposite reaction. Night/day, warm/cold, etc. To me life in general works this way. There is a balance to all things.
That is the biggie... I could go on and on.

I think it chose me. I walked into a woman's flea market booth in Tampa and found it to be a pleasant place where everyone accepted everyone else for who they were - not what they were supposed to be.
Since then, she has built her business to a store and I feel more cleansed, spiritual and close to God than in any church I have ever been in.
The teachings of Wicca are something I wholeheartedly believe in - The rule of 3 - The Wiccan rede as a whole....Yeah - peaceful people - that shows me what the religion is all about!!

Christianity is a joke to me. There's no religion more closed minded.
Buddhism is rather male centric. Since I'm a female, and rather passionate besides, that rules that out.
I think Judaism, Hinduism, Muslim and pretty much all the other religions are pretty much as messed up as Christianity is.
Wicca is open minded and accepting. It doesn't have the gods interpret the universe for us, instead it leaves that up to those who live by the way of the Wiccan. It also realizes that we are as important as any other existing life form to this universe and does not place us above anything else. Nature is in a delicate balance and Wicca realizes that we are simply part of that balance. There are only two laws, both of which are fairly easy to understand if not always live by. It doesn't speak of making us burn in hell, or otherwise treat us as lesser beings than any other living thing. It doesn't try to instill fear of the gods in us because our gods aren't vengeful frightening deities. It doesn't deny the facts of life or preach about some all wonderful paradise that can't possibly exist. In other words, Wicca is everything I could want in a religion.

Many of my friends follow some type of Wiccan or Neo-wiccan path. I have read many books about Wicca over the last two decades, and I find it very interesting. But I didn't choose it over all other religions. I follow a different neo-pagan path.

Its an older more easily understood religion. and the Christians took many of the rites, rituals and holy days to try an get them to convert.
Why settle for a mish-mashed Religion made up from different other religions when you can have the original.
If the Christians had keep true to what they were told to do by Jesus (to keep His words and deeds true and pure until the Jewish people reconsised him as their true Messiah ). then none of the things would have had to happen to try and force a different religion on other people.
And the idea of a trinity was already in place in the Celtic Pagan Religion. So if they had been patient maybe more would have converted on their own . instead of having to practice two religion system . one For Sunday and the other for the rest of the week and at home.

Because of the Personal nature. I am my own connection to the Goddess and God. I don't need to go to a special building to compare clothes once a week, or listen to a man who has sworn off of the things that are a big part of my life (Take for example, Catholic Priests, versus my marriage. They promised never to marry, so how can they know what it's like to be married. That's like going to a mechanic who's never driven a car. It doesn't make sense to me.

the Bible, the "word of god" written by man, is just that, written by man, and anything man made is foulable. Wicca is nature based and has no sacred text except nature and I see more truth in nature than I do in any other religion.
there is no devil / satan or evil, not in nature. when a shark eats a baby seal, it's not evil, it hungry. good and evil is morality and thats a manmade concept, so is the devil.
It takes male and female to create life therefor I belive in the god and goddess, the mother and the father.
I dont worship the devil, i dont even belive in it, and my "spells" are carefully crafted poems to my goddess and contain more heart, sincereity and conviction than any average sunday prayer.
is that really soooo bad? that I pray to god and his wife? that my prayers ryhme?
