what do you mean by a "drug-drug" is it something illegal? no unless its a forgery. is it a controlled drug (a risk of denpendency) yes. lortab is another name for vicodin which is hydrocodone with apap (tylenol). just be careful, it will cause drowsiness/dizzeness and may cause constipation so drink lots of water or add some extra fiber to your diet. and dont take any tylenol with it, there is some in there already, and if it upsets your stomach (which it probably will) take it with some food. i hope this helps **by the way lortab is a schedule 3 drug meaning it can be refilled as C2's cant there is no medication containing hydrocodone that is a C2 it is not as powerful as morphine or oxycodone, dont let that other guy try and scare you with that

All medicines are considered drugs. Loratab is the generic drug for Vicodin; which is a narcotic. It is considered a narcotic because it can be habit forming if used for a prolonged period of time. It is very common to be discharged from an ER with a loratab prescription. It is OK to take this drug if you are in pain; pain can affect your normal activities and make it hard to get much needed sleep. You are not to drive when taking this drug since it causes drowsiness. Are you going to be addicted if you take this drug; no as long as you stop taking it when the pain is subsiding. Take Advil when the pain lessens.

Lortabs are hydrocodone which comes in 5mg, 7.5 mg and 10 mg. They are a controlled substance which means you have to have a doctors prescription for them and they are a contolled substance by the food and drug administration. I had a prescritption for them because I had a bad ear ache and the left over tablets were stolen from me. They work great on pain and drug addicts love them.

Lortab is the brand name for the drug combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen which makes Lortab a Schedule II drug. Lortab is available by prescription only because it is considered as serious a drug as morphine or cocaine which are also Schedule II drugs. A narcotic that is available in pill or liquid form, Lortab can be effective up to 5 ours on a single dose. Lortab is prescribed for pain as an alternative to morphine and is an opiate like heroin. Lortab has gained in popularity over the last 5 years as has other products containing hydrocodone which is quickly becoming a popular drug of abuse.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse is a government agency that monitors both legal and illegal drug use and abuse. This agency reports that in 1999 around 4 million people in the United States used prescription drugs for nonmedical purposes. Of all the medications available by far the most popular were pain relievers such as Lortab. Of the millions and millions of people that take prescription medications, most do so successfully and have few problems as a result. However, there are also millions who take prescription drugs for recreation or who have become addicted to the drugs as a result of continuous usage. Very often usage of Lortab starts out legitimate but evolves into a viscous cycle of usage and dependence for non-medical reasons.

These questions are provided by the National Institute on Drug Abuse as guidelines for identifying a problem-

-Have you ever felt like you needed to take less Lortab or other prescription drugs?
-Have you been bothered by friends or family commenting on you use of Lortab or other prescription drugs?
-Have you ever felt guilty or ashamed about you use of Lortab or other prescription drugs?
-Have you ever used Lortab or other prescription drugs to "calm down" or "get going"?

The mere act of searching for more information about Lortab could be an indicator that you have concerns about continuing to use it. Seeking help for Lortab dependency can be a difficult decision. Questions about what to do about continuing pain and using other prescription drugs often arise. To answer these concerns it is necessary to have a medical assessment and psychological review before beginning a treatment program. Lortab is a Schedule 2 narcotic for moderate-severe pain. If it wasn't for Lortab, I wouldn't be mobile.
