I think I want it on my lower back. I play piano and I love music so that should be incorporated into it. IAny suggestions?

That's funny, I didn't see her ask if she should get one, or if you guys like tattoos or not..... hmm..

Okay, you sound like you know what you want...at least subject matter. DON'T listen to anyone else, don't get it if it is not meaningful, and don't get it because it's "cool" or what not, that's the faster road to regret. Get if for you, because of you, and from you. It should reflect/symbolize/describe/mean something to you...It should be very meaningful and personal So. Instead of asking that question...if you really know you want music incorporated with it...for a design just for you...that will make you happy..

I highly suggest going to a good locla tattoo shop, and talk with an artist, let them pick your brain for ideas. The artist can discuss with you what they want, and they can help you design the perfect custom piece for you. You're less likely to regret if you choose something about you, personal, menaingful(it seems like you have)...so liek I said, talk to an artist...they're usually very nice and helpful...if they're rude, just go to another shop...

Seriously...This is what their job pertains to..I can safely say YOU'll be much happier if you do this, rather than asking strangers, and that the artist will be happy to help you, and designa nd draw to your satisfaction! (Plus, most artists really like doing CUSTOM pieces..not flash off of the wall, or some other tattoo artist's work...

good luck,

That's my suggestion, dear.

Think about getting it closer to your hip. Personally, I prefer my tattoos where I can see them myself! I also like small tattoos, which you could totally do with a music theme.

I like the idea of music notes. You could do a chord that starts a favorite song. Or just something that feels a little whimsical. You could do a grand piano shape. A metronome might be funny!

I have two tattoos and I love them both after 10 and 7 years and having a baby did not chance anything about that! I've never heard the thing about the epidural. I doubt that is true, but what do I know?

that is something only you and the tattoo artists can decide on. Because you have the idea of what you kinda want it to look like and you want to make sure the artist can do it. i love my tattoos and if it is something you want i think you should go for it. on the lower back is a great place to get one (a little more painful) but you can hide it so easily there.

how about your favorite song that you play? you knwo hte music notes? or a certain song that has a memory that goes with it. if you dont want the whole song, b/c that would be alot of notes, haha, how about just pick a few of your favorties lines or the ones that mean the most. you could put piano keys inthe background too.

many people choose tattoos based upon tragic events in their lives, which is often involving the loss of a loved one and the desire to remember them. they choose symbols for the person, which is what the tattoo is visually communicating. also, people choose to celebrate life through their tattoos, whether the birth of a child or their own life. these tattoos tell a story, which is the kind i love.

if you aren't sure, then you haven't found the tattoo for you. usually, tattoos have meanings to people.... that is often the case. these tattoos are usually the ones that are more treasured and least regretted.

the people who get trendy tattoos, or those that just "look" cool are usually the ones who regret their tattoos and opt for removal (or hope for it).

realize that you really want to think this decision though, and make sure it is something you are really deeply passionate about-- not only now but for the rest of your life.

i'm late in answering so this may have been said already...

if you don't know what tattoo to get - don't get one! i'ts a permanent, personal mark on your body. the *only* reason to get it is because it's something you *really want* - not because 'everyone else has a tattoo, so...'

if you can think of an image you want imprinted on your body forever, get it. otherwise, stay fresh clean and beautiful.

I would think twice about that....if you want kids in the future, and wish to have an epidural to freeze you from the waist down so you don't have to go through labor and feel ALL of the pain, your tattoo CAN NOT cover the part of your back that the epidural is injected into.

When you think of what you want, think of how you're going to fel about it in 20-30 years. I am pondering a lower back tattoo also, and that seems to be my main concern.

I wanted a tattoo so much before I got mine, now that I've had it for a few years I absoloutly hate it and wish I'd have never got it. I can't stop thinking about how it's going to look when I'm like 75. Maybe it wont be the same for you. But deffinatly think about it first.
