What exactly is this? I have been looking for something to cover my comforter like a pillow cases for pillows. I wanted to get one so at least I can wash it every time I want and still retain my comforter in good shape for a long time and to change looks sometimes. Is this called duvet covers? or is there another name for it? Please let me know Thanks!

Yes, a duvet cover covers the comforter. Also called a quilt cover. Be careful, since they became so trendy, some prices have skyrocketed! If you are a sewer or know one, you can make one easily from fabric or sheets.

You can put a duvet (doo-vay) cover over any comforter, but usually over plan white ones. It's like a big pillowcase for the whole comforter. They're great! Cheaper than a whole new comforter. Ikea has really nice ones...and matching sheets and pillowcases!

Duvet cover is the correct name. You can get them at Sears, WalMart, any Bath store. You can also make your own by buying two top sheets and sewing three sides together, then sew a zipper in the bottom seam. I have three so I can change from Black and silver, to burgandy, to green and brown mustangs.
