I don't think it's weird at all :-) Sometimes words or expressions just don't sound right.
I hate the British expression "cheeky chappie" myself. I don't know why, but it really gets on my nerves.

I hate the word However... it just sounds fake.. like the person saying it is trying to be a smart jerk or whatever.. blah.. it makes me angry when people say it to me.. I don't know why.. so I don't think it is weird to hate the word snack.. because snack sounds degrading if someone says it to you as well.. like you are a little kid at snack time or something.. I hate the word nap as well.. anything that is degrading..

A lot of words "get to" me; but one that makes me irrationally "cringe" is the word that some use to demean women... a word I cannot repeat here. I think you'll know what I mean.

I hate the word "yummy" used by women in the food section here, they got mad at me for that!
So I can understand your repulsion at "snack", these terms probably have some hidden reference in our sub conscious, and I guess we ought to try to get over these quirks. OR NOT!! haha. Other people think we are crazy BTW.

The word "rights" because we as a society misconstrue "rights" with "privileges".
