My daughter is almost 6 years old and complains that vigina hurts after peeing. I thought it was a urinary tract infection and took her to the doctor today, but all the tests came back normal, she looked at it and it looked normal, no redness.
My daughter constantly feels like she needs to wipe herself moments after peeing, like she feels some is leaking out. So by doing this she is rubbing the area raw, so it hurts worse each time.
I tried putting a cream on it, but she said it burned, and it probably did as it is raw.
The doctor said everything was fine and maybe it was caused from her drinking carbanated drinks, but she doesn't drink them, at all. So I know it isn't that. What do I do? The doctor said to come back in two weeks and they would re do the urinary tests, but this can't go on like this anymore, one episode lasted for almost two hours tonight.
I want to get a second opnion. Does this sound like anything anyone has dealt with before? Thank you for your advice.

I experienced something similar as a child. Teachers complained that I went to the bathroom too often. Doctor said that nothing was wrong. I realized as an adult that I was probably cold. You know how cold can make you have to pee.
Any way, I wore a uniform to school. So in a skirt it was kinda breezy. Try keeping her warm, double panties if necessary. See if that helps. For the rawness, get her those moist wipes they have for kids. Maybe that will help
But definitely follow up with her doctor.

Thank goodness the tests came back normal, that rules out an infection and possible molestation. Another problem might be if you are using bubble bath. Girls have very short urethras (only 1-2 inches compared to the boys' 4-5 inches, so its very easy for things to work their way up. If it is not bacterial (as the tests proved) it could be a detergent irritant or even her underwear. Make sure her clothing around her vaginal area isn't too tight and rubbing as well. My daughter went through this once so I feel for your "episodes" with your daughter. In our situation is WAS the bubble bath.

I can't believe a doctor would casually suggest you come back in two weeks time when the child has rubbed herself raw. That's criminal!
Take her to another doctor, and preferably a children's specialist.
Good for you for questioning such bad advice from a doctor. Too many people simply accept nonsense like that because the 'doctor said so' when common sense tells you it's wrong.

does she drink alot of juice, i had to change the brand she drank because it did her that way. But like the other lady said, could be bubble baths too. You should get a second opinion because something is not right. I hope everything works out okay, she has to be miserable right now. I would get a second opinion tomorrow...or as soon as possible. Good Luck.

get a 2nd opinion. does not sound like your Dr. is thinking 360 or thinking to hardly at all. it could be physical and psychological. I deffinetly would get a 2nd opinion and maybe even see a psychiatrist. she may have a weak bladder and is leaking and is rubbing herself raw. These are things that a good Dr. would explore. Good luck!

i would take her to a specialist. if this were one of my children, i wouldn't think twice about that! your poor daughter. i hope she and you get answers real soon (and don't be shy about demanding them either... let the doctors know that this is your baby girl and your not going to let them allow her to hurt like this any more)!! GOOD LUCK with everything. my thoughts and prayers are with your daughter and you.

Go to a urologist for a second opinion. She may have a weak/small bladder than isn't emptying everytime she pees.

i had the same problem when i was little. its very irritating. i still got it sometimes. you know how your crotch feels when you don't pee all the way? she probably ''feels wet'' because she's trying to emty her bladder subconciencly. i went to the hospital too for that when i was about that age. i'm 19 now. it still happens sometimes like i said....it only lasts for a while. i know how she feels...
