All I did was throw mine in the dishwasher. The truth is, even if you sterilize them, you are returning them in a non-sterile environment after. Yes, you should always wash anything your baby is going to come in contact with once you bring it home or once it has been used but you can't truly sterilize anything in your home. Just stick to washing everything and your child will be fine. That's what I did and my son was only sick once in 2 1/2 years and that was only because a family member who was sick came to stay at our house. I have come to the conclusion that they will encounter germs and bacteria and it's better that they do it before kindergarten....but of course keep young babies away from sick people and keep their toys, pacifiers and bottles clean. But if you are dead set on sterilizing....boiling for 10 minutes is considered sterilizing.

Boil your bottles once once you get them. you do not opt to boil them ever back until eventually you've properly water that you have not examined for safe practices or you stay in a community will risky water. Freezing and refrigeration does no longer kill bacteria or viruses so it is a waste of area for you. besides to the more advantageous paintings, I somewhat have certainly seen some analyze that announces that boiling can launch bisphenol-A which will properly be a toxin. I did see one source that still suggested that dishwashing with the heated dry cycle replaced into also undesirable so hand wash or turn off the nice and comfortable temperature cycle.

Well with my 1st child. I boiled new nipples and new binkies for about 10 minutes. After that I washed them normal or sometimes in the dish washer. Bottle wise.. I dont think those need to be boiled. Wash with warm soapy water, use a bottle brush and you should be fine. I used the playtex bottles with bags so I'm no pro with the reg bottles. But I pretty much did things the same way :)

I'm no pro at boiling baby bottles but I think that 5-10 minutes should be good! As long as they are in boiling water and not just hot water.

You can put the bottle and all its parts in boiling water or you can buy a sterilizer. I have an Avent microwave sterilizer. You put up to 4 bottles (or pacifiers) in it and fill it with 7 ozs. of water and microwave for 4 minutes. With my first child, I only sterilized bottles and pacifiers when I first bought them, but with this microwavable sterilizer, I do it each time, just b/c it's so easy.

When I first brought them home from the store, I boiled them for about 5 minutes.

After that, I just washed like normal.

Germs are not a bad thing, believe it or not. If a child is exposed to normal everyday germs, he/she will build up a much stronger immune system and be better able to fight colds, etc.

:)

Sterilization is not needed for baby bottles. If you have a dishwasher, that will clean them just as well. If you wash by hand, just make sure you use lots of good warm, soapy water. Sterilizing bottles went out decades ago and there has been no increase in bacterial infection in infants.

I used to sterilize them in the microwave. You can buy special bags. Medella makes them. You can sterilize plastic bottles, nipples, pacifiers, and other things in these bags. There are directions on there how long to microwave for. You still have to wash quickly with soap and water first, to get any obvious residue out.

don't boil the baby bottles, wash them with warm soapy water, you boil the nipples, fill the pot like half way, and boil the nipples for like 4-5 min, that's it
