Good question--this question does not even need to be answered in the context of faith, but rather can be defined according to religious doctrine. So, for a Christian definition....God is not an object, so to attempt to define Him as an object will be a flawed effort. However, He can be described as having some of the characteristics of man, as man was made in His image. This does not mean that God is a human, but rather there are certain traits that man shares with God, especially a sense of emotions, a sense of right and wrong, and a desire for fairness. As for other attributes one can ascribe eternal existence, with no beginning or end, perfection of goodness, and omnipotence. There is also, in most forms of what is Christianity, a belief in the Trinity (not going to bother explaining this here; Wikipedia has a good description if you are truly curious).

Different answers for different people. There's the Christian God, Allah, etc. And then there are atheists.
The basics that a lot of theists (especially Christians) agree with:
1. God is omniscient
2. God is omnipotent
3. God is omnibenevolent.

The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
We saw the Lord standing upon the breastwork of the pulpit, before us; and under his feet was a paved work of pure gold, in color like amber. His eyes were as a flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying: I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father.
God is perfect His attributes include: He has all Power, He has all Knowledge, He is Just, He is Merciful, He has perfect Judgment, and He is unchangeable (These 6 are required to know in order to have faith unto salvation)

I cannot find God for you. You have to go looking for him. When you find him , you can get to know him. He is easy to identify to those who know him.
