visas are issued for each single country you intent to visit if they require one ,and not given at the airports to my personal knowledge visas are applied and granted prior to your arrival in that particular country. i can speak about Russia,China, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, ONE country visa are just a scam like international passports check with the country you plan on visiting for its regulations or you will be denial boarding the aircraft to begin with ,should you get away with it upon landing at passport control you will be arrested and held till the next return flight home leaves <<< from experience

If you have a US passport usually you don't need to get a visa to go into the country ahead of time. For instance Thailand doesn't not require you apply for a visa if you are a tourist. I couldnt say about the others. However, visas are for one country only. You need to get one everytime you go to a new country. But as I said you get most visas upon entering the country. Most countries have a website with that information though.

Each country has separate visa requirements for different nationalities. This info is available on the airlines computers. just check with the air carrier with whom you are travelling and thy will advise you waht the requirements are. don't forget that some countries, such as Indonesia also require you to have an air ticket to leave the country
