OK, I'm at a loss.

If neither one of you is in the Army, what makes you think that the Army will pay for anything?

I don't quite understand...would you be joining the military? If your husband was in the Army and is now going to prison, he would become ineligible for all benefits.

As for paying existing bills, no the Army does not do that. Sometimes they will provide you with a sign on bonus depending on what career field, etc you choose, but you would need to see a recruiter for more specifics.

If you were to join the Army, they would cover the insurance of the children if they were considered your legal dependents. Therefore, you would need to be declared the legal guardian or adopted parent.

For more info on recruiters and available jobs visit goarmy.com, they would be the most knowledgeable on this subject.

If your current husband is in the military your child can be covered under his insurance if you don't receive child support from the child's biological father. You will have to have legal paperwork showing that you don't receive child support. Because I do not receive court ordered child support from my son's father the Army considers my son my current husband's dependent. Therefore, my son receive all of the military benefits that my husband's biological children receive. The military benefits will not cover existing medical bills. You may be eligible for Medicaid to assist you with the existing bills if they were incurred within the last 90 days.
