Didn't see your first post, but yes....that can certainly be one possible cause that should be ruled out during a basic seizure workup.

Yes. A friends dog had suddenly developed seizures that the Vet could not figure out.The owner ran out of her usual "high quality" Eukanuba dog food & they had to substitue with some other food. The seizures immediately stopped. As a small test, they gave her a bit of the Eukanuba again, & sure enough another seizure. The Vet said it was uncommon but obviously the food. They never fed it to her again & she lived to a ripe old age with never another seizure. Looking at the label, one can see many chemicals & dyes in that & other dog foods. Your best bet is to talk with a knowledgeable Feed Store, avoid Science Diet & the like, and go for the holistic foods. Specify that you suspect food allergies, as many of these are without corn, wheat, and other common allergens. Look it up on the web too, and keep trying different brands until you find the right one for her.

Some food allergies can cause seizures just like in people. Call your vet. ASAP if your dog is having a seizure and let them know what kind of food he/she just ate. Good luck!

your answers should be mailed to your email address, and yes sometimes food allergies can cause siezures...but lots of other things can cause them too. try taking your pet to the vet to make sure that something else isn't going on.
