If a cop who kills a bad person (a killer who has hostages he's about to kill for example), would that cop go to hell for his actions?

Same goes for soldiers who fight for their country.
Would god still punish them, or reward them for making earth better?

That question assumes a great many things that if they are spelled out, makes your question compound into even more questions. For example, lets ask the question this way just to get another look at it, "Do criminals who save the life of a cop go to heaven? How about this: Does a criminal cop go to hell if he is saved in a Christian church? Or, Does a Christan Church serve as hell under some circumstances for both a cop and a criminal? Does Hell really exist just because a cop and a criminal believe in Hell? If Hell was at one end of the street, and a criminal was at the other end of the street, which way would the cop go?

God can forgive...
The issue though is that soldiers and police officers have to live with the fact that they took another humans life. Alot of the times the memory is supressed and people won't talk about it, but it affects them.
Personally, I made a decision in my life not to go that route because I didn't want to have the mental anguish. The people who fight to protect and defend our country are brave souls...It takes alot of help and support to make it through those kind of situations.
Peace...

No, they are abiding by the laws of the country and the Bible says we are to live by the laws of our country.

Killing is not the worst thing that could happen according to God, but it is in our society.

Thou shall not kill is a commandment, but to God breaking the other 9 are one and the same.

In the bible God says (not quoted), that there's a time to live, a time to die, and a time to kill....and so on. I think God knows what's in people's hearts, so he knows what they are going to do and why they are going to do it! I'm sure that those people don't go to hell.

Even the bible states there is a time for war. We must have rules and punishment, according to the bible. You are under subjection of the government and expected to obey the government as long as it doesn't interfere with your religious belief.

no, at least not for that!
The same for a soldier.

They become bloody men, much as King David was a bloody man.
They are excluded from the priesthood of God, but not from the ministry of God.

I would say no, in the same way that someone who stoned another person to death for breaking a commandment is not damned.

There is no hell.

Research the place where we go when we die... it is called Sheol not Hell.

For no one is judged until the end

You should read your Bible more so you can clearly understand these concepts.

God Bless You

do you think the Nazi soldiers went to heaven? Most of them did not know what or why they were killing, much like ours today.
