Jesus turned water into wine during a wedding at Cana. There have also been refences that suggest he too tasted wine (Luke 7:33-34).The aposle Paul urged Timothy to drink wine for his stomach troubles (1 Timothy 5:23). The Bible admonishes Christians to refrain from activities such as DRUNKENESS (Romans 13:13). But when is it wrong for a Christian to consume alcohol?
I believe that sometimes Christians should refrain from drinking too if it someone with a weaker faith or understanding will see your drinking as sinful and will be made to stumble because of it.
Christians SHOULD NOT drink and drive and several countries have definite laws about this which Christians should comply with.
If a Christian is mixing with unbelievers and he/she denotes a tendency for them to drink too much, the Christian should take the lead in encouraging moderation. If this fails, the Christian should surely leave any such meeting or gathering.
Young people are always in danger of over-drinking and it is my opinion that Christians should NEVER encourage younger people to drink alcohol.
If a Christian has previously had a problem with heavy or addictive drinking he or she should completely avoid taking alcohol.
I used to drink socially until I realized that I get headaches, upset stomach, palpitations and a generally tipsy feeling, even if I’d just consumed a very small amount of alcohol. So I decided to stop drinking altogether because drinking didn’t produce anything positive for my body (1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19).

Who said or where does it say that Christians cannot drink? As long as you don't get ***faced all the time and drink just one or two drinks a day, then there is no reason why you can't drink and be a Christian. I really wish the people who ask these questions would study the material before asking the question. The material is the Bible by the way.

Well, no matter what your delusional leaders tell you, there is no god. Because of there was, you would have been tortured and killed in a most terrible fashion. The Christian god is a liar, a cheat, and he loathes his own creation. So I say, why worry about what you can't see, or otherwise truly experience? When you can just experience existence without some fairytale hindering you. Other than major complications with organ failure, and the sort - I say drink up.

No it is not always wrong. Drinking can be done in moderation. In my case I chose to quit in part because I know people who have problems with drinking. Rather than nagging them to stop, I just try to set an example. If I quit they can too. Also I do not know of anyway that drinking can bring glory to God.

The problem is not in drinking alcohol, The problem is abuse. Jesus turned water to wine. The Bible even says to " Take a little wine for your stomach sake"

Satellite_K,
No! Look, you will get a lot of answers saying that a Christian should never get drunk, and whatever. I think that it's a good idea not to get drunk, but it makes me no more or less a Christian to do so. Martin Luther had a few things to say about that.
But behavior makes no one a Christian. Trusting God through Christ makes a person a Christian.

If Jesus made water into wine and drank wine regularly, how is it that alcohol is wrong? Unless you were to argue that Jesus sinned and then you may as well find a new religion since that first one didn't work out.

I don't believe so. The reason it is frowned on on Christians getting drunk is because in Biblical times their wine was basically nothing but grape juice. When they got drunk off thier wine they drank to much. Moderation is the key. Jesus turned water into wine in the Bible did he not?

You can drink in moderation. After all, remember, Jesus himself turned water into wine. Why would he do this if it was a sin to drink at all?

you can drink alcohol, it is wrong to sin.
do you drink enough, that you would sin? do domething that you normally would not do.
If you want to drink - go for it. just don't disgrace the name of Jesus, if you are a Christian
