I'm glad someone has the guts to excercise real human "rights" and use their right to slap a jerk in the head when they deserve it. No you are not a bully but the idiot who called you the "n" word was in need of learning to keep their big mouth shut and you obliged them.

I think only you can answer that question. The guy who said that probably deserved to have his butt kicked. However, does that give you the right to be judge, jury and executioner. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. God said vengeance is mine. Maybe you should have tried a different approach, or maybe you should have ignored him. However, I wasn't there so I can't really make a decision on that. I assume because you asked this question that you do feel a little guilty. My opinion is that your conscience is always a good indicator of right and wrong. You probably over reacted, that's ok, everyone has done it, i've done it. What matters now is how you deal with it in the future. My honest opinion, show that you are a better man than those losers by not dropping to their level. You are better than them, and by walking away you prove that you know it. Anger is a child of jealousy, and hatred is a child of anger. People only hate you if they are jealous of you, remember that.

It's hard to know without hearing the full story but it seems as though there were extenuating circumstances. It's possible that you over-reacted, but as a middle aged white woman I'm not in a position to know what it feels like to be called the n word. I can only imagine that if I end up having grandchildren who are black (a distinct possibility for me) and someone called that child the n word, I would be ready to start WW III.

Although it appears to be justified, you probably should feel guilty. Two wrongs don't make a right honey, you know this. If you feel the need to apologize, do so, but don't you dare apologize for standing up for what is right. March right up to that person and tell them how sorry you are to see them raised so ignorantly. Then hold your head up high and walk away knowing that person will not be making that mistake again.

I dont think you should feel guilty. If you dont like ANYONE to call you that, then you were right in kicking their ***. But, I dont understand why its ok for african americans to call each other that and then be offended when anyonelse does?

Have you ever used that word yourself?
Did his use of the word damage you or make you into something that you are not?
Someone can call you a *carrot* but that doesnt make you into one.
When you beat him up, though, you could have hurt or killed him, and you most likely committed the crime of assault.
Think about it. Dont let your emotion lead you into trouble.

You shouldn't touch someone unless they lay hands on you first. Just cause someone called you something doesn't give you any right to beat them up. Just call them some mean names and they probably won't give a ****.
