I already applied for the USCIS forms, and sent them in, the thing is that i need to have my fingerprints taken to complete the process and need a valid ID in order to do that. the only valid id is my drivers liscence from the counrty i am from, and i dont know if that counts. the only way i can get a valid id here is if i get a SSN. they will not give me one since my passport and visa are expired. i am married to a us citizen, and so i wonder if that counts enough for me to get a SSN.

You'll have to fill out an alien permanant resident application for the USCIS - United States Citizenship and Immigration Service, pay the fees and apply for a status adjustment. It doesn't matter about expired visa's or passports, but you do have to go through the process to become a legal resident. You can download the forms and fees from their website:

your spouse upon marriage should have filed the appropriate form (adjustement for you ) sponsorship/alien/spousal, after you get interviewed by consular officials you maybe granted permanent resident status right now you are just another illegal alien and can and should be deported,or did you think that all of the above were issued at Kmart vending machines try this www.uscis.gov/visa SSN are issued to legal permanent residents and socuial securty will want to see the green card , for your fingerprints explaining your dilema to a police official with youir expired passport should convince them of your legal purpose

see if the answer is here. I would contact someone who can issue visa's and explain your situation and ask what steps you need to take to be able to get a SSN since everything has expired.

have your spouse get a noterized letter to give to the embassy or something, explaining she can support you in all means and will amke sure you will do the right thing.

its that simple, check with the state your spouse is at, you can get better ifno there but this is a start.
