simplified:
Associates Degree - Low class jobs - Enough to live on own.
Bachelors Degree - Middle class jobs - Enough for luxuries.
Masters Degree/Ph.D - High class jobs - Rich.

Am I on the spot? I'm just conviniently and simply putting this in a nutshell. Feel free to object.

Most people with associates degrees do end up getting low class jobs; however, there are some of them who are very smart and just drop out of college just to start their own businesses and become extremely wealthy. Most people who have bachelors degrees end up being in the middle class. The same can be said for people with master's degrees and Phd's. People with master's degrees usually make about $10k-$20k more per year than people with bachelors degrees. Phd's usually make about $30k-$40k more per year than people with a bachelors. However, you have to keep in mind that your wealth is not measured by your education. Your wealth is measured by how much value you can add to society. If you dropped out of high school to start your own business and it becomes successful, you will become richer than most Phd.'s out there.

I don't know if I'd call an Associates Degree = to low class jobs. I think low class jobs would be no college education at all/high school drop out.

And there are plenty of Ph.D degrees that wont get you the rich life, but i'm sure thats true in general. But youd always have the luxury of an education which is worth alot more than people think.

In a nutshell you could be correct :)

But it is because of society perceiving things that way. Education depicts your knowledge and skillset levels which is important in your job.

Although there are exceptions like Mr Gates......those are exceptions.
I'd say you are almost correct.
But I'll change the middle class to:
Degrees / High School

:)

It is more like this these days:

Associates degree - low class jobs - barely scrapping by.
Bachelor's degree - low class jobs - barely scrapping by (unless mommy and daddy have a connection).
Master's degree/Ph.D - Middle class jobs - enough to buy property in Southern CA if your significant other also has an advanced degree (or mommy and daddy help you buy it!)

Kiely98 is right on the money.

Not exactly. Professional degrees (JDs, MDs, MBAs, etc) rather than PhDs and masters degrees tend to make more money, but with people worth billions, can we classify those who make $200,000 per year rich? Nor "high" class. Upper middle class, more likely.

Social scientists use a combination of income and education to determine class degrees.

You imply what the requirements are to be able to accumulate things. I hope you are not tying that to happiness, because things will not provide happiness!

How much for a healthy heart or both physically and mentally healthy children, or for a true friend or love that last a life time?
Which class of jobs will provide this?

While education is a profound necessity, I would rather share experiences with a person steeped in integrity, wrapped in virtue guided by moral principals with responsibility as their shield of honor.

Even if one is poor in things, their life will have much more value.

WRONG! I have two bachelor's degrees, two master's degrees, and I'm still POOR! :( Well, not poor. But I'm certainly not rich. I'd say that I'm in the lower middle class.
