Ok here is the deal, my girlfriend (1 year) has really pretty feet but will not paint her toenails saying that she prefers the "natural" look. I've told her that its a huge turn on for me, but still no luck. Anyway...this week we have a hypnotist coming to our school and he is a sort of friend. My girlfriend wants to volunteer and I guess I'm asking two things 1. Would it be possible for him to leave a post hypnotic suggestion that she will like painting her toenails? Would it work? 2. Should I get him to do it. Thanks!

I don't think hynoptists really do the thing. If you are doing anything against your girlfriends wishes anyway it's being sneaky and no one likes a sneaky partner.

OK! I think that you would seriously be invading the space that allows her to be who she wants to be. She is her own person, just as you are and I know you wouldn't want someone to brain wash you into doing something that you had already made clear, you did not want to do. What makes a person different form other people is their own individual characteristics. I'm sure she appreciates your opinion, but what she decides in reference to her own body, is totally up to her and your going to have to support her all the way. Obviously she has made an impact on your life in other ways that had nothing to do with her toes. I know you did not stay with her for a year, hoping that she would paint her toe nails. There must be other things that keep you happy otherwise you wouldn't have been together for so long. If you love her, truly love her, then you have to love everything about her or nothing at all. This includes all the things that drive you crazy. If you both go through the relationship tring to change all the things that make you differ from each other and other people, then you will waste your life chasing rainbows, and that my friend is a lonely road. Hold on to the things that last, and let go of the things that don't!

you do not do anything under hypnosis that you do not want to do. You can be tricked like if you wanted her to take her clothing off, then the hypnotist could tell her to pretend she is taking a shower, but nothing will work for painting toes, unless he tells her that she has ten little cuts and needs to paint on red liquid band aids.

Personally 'natural' is a turn on to me. My suggestion is, rather than try to change her, why don't you go to the beach or the pool and look for someone who has painted toes and start a conversation with her--you've won half the battle right off.

AS a therapist, I am insulted by your lack of respect for your girlfriend. If you do ask him, he is breaking an professional code of ethics by granting your selfish request.

I highly recommend that you reconsider that action. It is both morally and ethically wrong on your part to even consider doing such for either your girlfriend or your friend.
